Student answer (Band 6.0)
Sports are an important part of a healthy society, but not only in the local communities or national level, but also at the international level where different countries are competing against each other like The Olympics, Cricket and Football worldcup.
I agree with the view that international competitions bring the countries together and benefits them in many ways like in increasing tourism, boost economic activities and increase the sense of friendship amoung the countries. Not only the players but also the supports and the fans get a change to see the different culture and socities. Also they get oppotunity to experince different kind of foods and explore different entertainment activities around the world. All this is because of international events.
During the last cricket world cup, I visited England during where I was supporting my home country Pakistan. This bought me a great opportunity to meet the people from different countries like India, Australia, and England etc. It was not only a sports competition for me but I was able to explore new avenues for my business around the world.
Wherease some people thinks that these events are just creating an unnecessary competition amoung the countries which doesn't benefit them in anyways and bring a long lasting rivalary amoung the countries. This creates a rift amoung the supporters, and sometimes the fight and the heat creating during an event comes out of the ground, which in return bring choas and unrest on the streets espically seen after football matches where fans get voilent on the streets and bring damages to the venues and cities.
I think these international competition are very important for the countries but eveyone should show a good sportsman-ship and keep the compeition on ground only rather then making it a life and death situation, and making them more friendly so that everyone can enjoy such events.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and give a clear personal position: you support international events, while acknowledging that rivalry can spill into public disorder. The examples about meeting people from India, Australia and England, and about violence after football matches, are relevant and help explain each side. However, the benefits are not equally developed: tourism, economic activity and cultural exchange are listed, but the response does not explain in detail how these outcomes build lasting relationships between countries. The opposing view is also mainly illustrated through disorder among fans rather than competition between countries themselves. To strengthen the response, explain the link between sporting contact and international friendship, and develop the counterargument with a specific example of national rivalry or tension.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph supporting international events, a personal example, a paragraph presenting the opposing view, and a concluding opinion. This makes the discussion easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “Wherease” and “I think” to indicate a change of view and your conclusion. At times, however, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and some connections between ideas are unclear. For example, the personal account of exploring business opportunities follows the cultural-exchange point, but its relevance to friendship between countries is not made explicit. The long opening sentence also combines several ideas. Use clearer links between each example and the argument it supports, and vary transitions rather than relying mainly on paragraph-level signals.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “international competitions,” “tourism,” “economic activities,” “rivalry,” and “unrest.” These choices allow you to discuss both the benefits and risks of major sporting events. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “a rift among the supporters,” though some wording is inaccurate or unnatural. Spelling errors such as “amoung,” “oppotunity,” “experince,” and “voilent” are noticeable, while phrases such as “a change to see” and “increasing tourism, boost economic activities” show imprecise word choice or collocation. These do not prevent understanding, but they reduce precision. Check spelling carefully and learn common word partnerships so your vocabulary sounds more natural and exact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including the contrast introduced by “Wherease” and the concluding clause beginning “so that everyone can enjoy.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “some people thinks” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, and “these international competition are” has a singular–plural mismatch. The opening construction, “but not only in the local communities or national level, but also at the international level,” is not formed clearly, while “during where I was supporting” creates an awkward clause structure. There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries. Practise agreement, clause construction and punctuation, then proofread each sentence to ensure its parts fit together. More accurate complex sentences would improve control.
