Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this era of modernatization, It can be observed that International events of sports has been increased nowadays as compare to the past. There are divided opinion about that sports events. Some people believe that those type of event can be immensely beneficial for the country. However, some people may counter claim that the International olympics only bring a sense of competition and it might turn out in rivalry. Prior to my stance, Both the view point will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs with valid reasons and appropriate examples.
Discussing the former view, supporters believe that, A huge event like Fifa football world cup is really interesting and useful for knowing people from different culture. This cultural characteristics can be seen as a uniqueness and it's good for the country. For instance, 2026 world cup before that world do not know about lamin yamal history and struggle, after world cup everyone was aware about that. On top of that, the place they choose for an olympics it can also bring friendship and prosperity to their nation.
Discussing about later view, some proponents thinking that International world cup is such a bad idea itself. The foremost reason for that, it induced more International rivalry and sense of winning at any cost for their nation. They might dislike eachother on the event. For example, 2009 world cup there was a huge fight between two adult, they were fighting on nation discrimination, during the world cup. Moreover, Countries come take a part to event not for fun, they love see their country win.
Based on the aforementioned reasoning I support later view. The Olympics like Football World cup can only cause lot of expenses, lot of rivalry and escalating jealousy between different nations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You discuss both views and state your position, supporting the view that international events can increase rivalry. The examples about cultural exchange and conflict are relevant in principle. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that the 2026 World Cup made people aware of Lamine Yamal’s history is unclear and does not convincingly show how countries are brought together, while the “2009 world cup” example lacks enough context to be persuasive. Your position also shifts: you initially say both views will be discussed, but the final paragraph supports the opposing view without explaining why it outweighs the benefits. Develop each side with clearer, more accurate examples and explain your reasoning more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “Discussing the former view” and “Moreover” helps readers follow the intended progression, and the overall contrast between cooperation and rivalry is clear. This organisation is stronger than a simple list of points. However, some links are mechanical, and several references are difficult to follow—for example, “the place they choose for an olympics” does not clearly identify who chooses it or how this creates friendship. The conclusion repeats the rivalry argument rather than drawing together the discussion. Use more natural transitions and make links between claims and examples explicit to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural characteristics,” “prosperity,” “rivalry,” and “discrimination,” and these choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts of the message unclear. Phrases such as “modernatization,” “divided opinion,” “counter claim,” and “sense of winning at any cost” are inaccurate or unnatural in context. “Adult” is also an unclear choice for the people involved in the reported fight. Aim for precise, conventional expressions such as “opinions are divided,” “argue in response,” and “a desire to win at all costs.” Check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use a mixture of simple statements and attempted complex structures, including “Some people believe that…” and “However, some people may counter claim that…”. This gives the response some structural variety, but attempts at longer sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make several ideas difficult to interpret. For example, “International events of sports has been increased” has problems with the subject, verb form, and construction; “Countries come take a part to event” is also grammatically incomplete. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, as in “It” and “Both” after commas and the missing space in “fun, they.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clause patterns before adding more complex structures.
