Student answer (Band 5.0)
International sport event is very big event for all countries but, several individuals belives the Olympics can bring countries together however, others believe these kind of event create compitition between countries. This essay will discuss both perspectives before explaining why I believe that international sports eventsare good way to bring countries together.
Supporters of this view argue that The Olympics or the football games make competition between countries. The main reason is players are play games for wining reason only not for fun. Moreover in stadiums, the audience also cheers for different countries in result players not motivated by the audience as example if indian team plays a game in India, they have more cheering for this reason oposite team have lost their motivation.
On the other hand those who believe a sports event is a good chance to meet players from other countries. In addition, players can see different types of skills. The Olympic games respects all counries in the same way, also at the beginning of the games they organise some pared to showcase different countries traditions.
In conclution both the view have merit however, in my opinion spots event is very good idea for making countries together because game is only platform where no any fight no matter countries in a war or not.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views and give a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The contrast between competition and international contact is relevant, and the parade example helps illustrate cultural exchange. However, the discussion is only partial: the competition paragraph focuses mainly on players wanting to win and spectators supporting their own teams, while the friendship paragraph gives little explanation of how meeting players or seeing skills builds relationships between countries. The conclusion’s claim that sport is a platform without fighting is also asserted rather than supported. The response is 33 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop reasons and examples. Explain each view more fully and add a specific example to support your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the main contrast reasonably easy to follow. You also use signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and some links are mechanical or inaccurate. For example, “in result” does not clearly show the relationship between audience support and players’ motivation, while “also” joins ideas without explaining their connection. The first body paragraph begins by saying supporters argue that events “make competition,” which does not clearly identify the view being discussed. Use topic sentences that state each side precisely, then connect each reason to its consequence with clear referencing and explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “competition,” “audience,” “skills,” “traditions,” and “motivation,” so the reader can identify the subject and main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to understand. Examples include “international sport event,” “for wining reason,” “oposite team,” and “spots event.” Some expressions, such as “making countries together,” are not natural English and obscure your intended meaning. Aim to learn common collocations for sport and international relations, and check spelling carefully. More precise phrases such as “foster international understanding” or “intensify national rivalry” would help you express the contrast more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast introduced by “however” and a conditional example beginning “if Indian team plays.” This shows an effort to vary sentence forms. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to interpret. For example, “players are play games” has an incorrect verb form, while “the audience also cheers … in result players not motivated” lacks a clear grammatical connection between clauses. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “a sports event is very good idea” and the opening sentence’s comma placement. Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then combine them using correctly punctuated conjunctions and clauses.
