Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is undeniable fact that international sports play a cruical role in all the world wheather its for progress or the entertainment. For many people who believes that international sorts such as the olympics and football world cup are the keys that gather countries; however, for other it will the reson of competative era between nations which will be discuused ith the upcomping paragrapghs.

First and foremost is that its boost economy and make success towards countries. To ellaborate it more, when geoplotical cities play internationally then it definetily make some country economy more as people visit from all over the world to enjoy the sports and buy tickets and food. Apart from it, its also increase the success of that particular nations as they compete with the other countries and won their nation. Therefore, this is paragmati approach for the countries to make great position all over the world beacuse of having best playes hardwork.

On the paradoxical side, there are some advocates who thonl that this trend will lead negative side between countries as playes compete when they loose the match then countries get jealous from another counties sucess and wins. Eventhough, its also affect the friendships if two friends from different country compete opposite. For example, there are some cirumstaances where players do some wrose things with the best players just to loose their game. Thus, it will be negative approach from some critics to follow.

In conclusion, although there some people who not prefer to create this events internationally but the positive side of this trend cannot be denied as this give a chance make good repuation in the world and make that country more success.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and give a clear preference for the positive effects in the conclusion, so the response is relevant to the task. The economic point—that visitors spend money on tickets and food—is a relevant reason, and you also mention national recognition through sporting success. However, the discussion of friendship and competition is only partly developed: the claim that countries become jealous after a loss is asserted rather than explained or supported with a convincing example. The opening also frames the issue mainly as progress or entertainment, rather than directly introducing unity versus rivalry. To strengthen the response, explain how shared events can build contact between nations, then develop the risks of rivalry with a specific, plausible example and make your own position explicit earlier.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for benefits, one for drawbacks, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “First and foremost,” “On the paradoxical side,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, some links are mechanical or unclear, and the progression within paragraphs is uneven. For example, the economic benefit shifts to national success without explaining how the two points connect, while “Therefore” introduces a conclusion that is difficult to interpret. References such as “this trend” and “it” are not always precise. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting detail directly to its main idea; also ensure each paragraph develops one side of the debate in a logical sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international sports,” “compete,” “economy,” and “friendships,” and phrases such as “geopolitical” suggest an effort to use less common language. However, the range is limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choice or collocation, which sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “cruical,” “wheather,” “competative era,” and “make success towards countries.” Some expressions, such as “geoplotical cities play internationally,” do not communicate a clear idea. Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than inserting ambitious words: for instance, describe “host cities” and say events “boost the local economy.” Proofreading spelling and choosing precise phrases will make your ideas easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “although” and clauses beginning with “when.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction frequently make the message difficult to follow. For example, “For many people who believes” has incorrect agreement, while “this is paragmati approach” is missing an article and has an unclear grammatical structure. In “its also increase,” the subject and verb do not agree. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clear subject and verb before adding subordinate clauses. Check agreement and articles systematically, then use punctuation to separate complete ideas.
