Student answer (Band 5.0)

Sports plays an important role in human being's life because it give chance to show their talents in front of other people. Some people think that international events such as Football world cup and other sports events is a good way to brings different nations together. However, other masses believes that it helps to create more competiton instead of friendship. This essay intends to highlight both the views along with my opinion in upcoming parahraphs.

To begin with, while helding different internation sports events in one country, majority of nation's players can get a chance to partciapte it which helps to country meet together to show their talents. For example, in 2026. fifa world cup was held in America, and Vancouver, due to it majority of countries such as Portugal and Europe and other nations players particapted it and got a chance to meet together and showed their talents in front of the audience. Secondly, when international events are organised in many countries, than it not only helps to improve the realtionship among countries but it also helps to explore the culture of diferent nation which is quite beneficical.

On the other hand, there are plethora of reasons why some people think that international events creates more and more competition. First of all, while organising Olympics and Footbal World cup events in many countries, players can compete with each other in the internation sports events, players do a hard work and get a lerant alot of skils such as proper planning and cordination sliks so they can compete with other country's players.

Acording to my point of view, i think countries should organise internation events so players from other countries can get a chance to visit the country and partcipate in the game to show their talent in front of the wholr world.

In conclusion, it is clearly seen that countries should organise sports events so it helps to improve the realtionship with others and players can get an opportunity to compete with each otrher.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for international events, particularly in the final two paragraphs. The point that hosting events can expose visitors to another culture is relevant, and you give an example involving the World Cup. However, the discussion is only partial: the friendship argument is repeated in the conclusion, while the competition paragraph mainly explains that players develop skills through competing. It does not clearly examine how competition might weaken relations between countries, which is the opposing view in the prompt. The example is also confusingly expressed, so it does not strongly support the point. Develop each view with a clear explanation and a specific, accurate example, and make your opinion more explicit in the introduction.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven. The first supporting paragraph moves from participation to a World Cup example and then to cultural exchange without clearly connecting each point. The competition paragraph is brief and does not develop its central idea, while the opinion and conclusion repeat similar claims. Some transitions, including “Secondly” and “First of all,” signal sequence but do not establish a strong logical relationship. Organise each paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “international events,” “players,” “compete,” “relationship,” and “culture,” so the main subject is generally clear. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “a plethora of reasons” and “coordination skills.” However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or awkward, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to follow: “helps to country meet together,” “got a lerant alot of skils,” and “other masses believes” are examples. Spelling errors such as “competiton,” “partciapte,” and “diferent” are noticeable, and repeated use of “chance” and “show their talents” limits precision. Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully; vocabulary suggestions below offer practical alternatives.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrastive opening with “while” and a sentence using “not only … but also.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently in basic agreement and verb forms: “Sports plays,” “it give,” “events is,” and “other masses believes” should follow the correct subject–verb pattern. Infinitive and clause structures are also faulty, as in “helps to country meet together” and “helps to improve the relationship … but it also helps to explore.” Articles, plurals, and punctuation need attention too; for example, the opening sentence uses “human being's life” awkwardly, and the example contains a confusing date-and-place construction. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences with controlled clauses.
