Student answer (Band 5.0)

In the fast-paced world, sports competition has become widely popular. While many people think that a good way to interact with countries are international sports events like The Olympics or the Football World Cup, others argue that only these events only make competition, not friendship among countries. In my opinion, the whole world together is the best option to maintain a good relationship with each other.

On the one hand, It does not only creates sports friendship but also it helps exchanges of necessary items. In addition, nowadays, very popular sports are the Football World cup and the Olympics in this many sports are there. Furthermore, this is the best chance to meet and create friendship with other developed countries. For instance, if India maintain good relationship with the United Kingdom that will benefit to both countries because they can import and export the things based on mutual respect.

On the other hand, some people believe that only create competition, not friendship as it leads any other miscommunication or misguide by the others although, it depends on the individual person not the whole country. For example, in the modern era, IPL cricket game is incredibly popular, in this sports many countries are involving because it creates competition among them.

In conclusion, modern sports competition are no longer about just individual athelets but also whole team sports are also significantly more popular. though some people believe that international sports events, such as The Olympics or the Football World Cup, are a better way to approach countries together. Others argue that these events only create competition, not friendship, among countries. As far as I am concerned, undeniably, maintain a good relationship with other countries is a fanatstic way to help each other.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state an opinion, particularly in the opening and conclusion. The first body paragraph presents international events as opportunities for contact, while the second acknowledges that they can create competition. However, the discussion only partially develops the task: the claim that events help countries exchange “necessary items” shifts toward trade and is not clearly linked to sporting events, and the IPL example does not explain how competition affects relations between countries. Your position that countries should maintain good relationships is present, but it is not consistently connected to the question of whether sports events achieve this. Develop each view with a direct explanation and a relevant example, and make your own judgement explicit throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting opposing views, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its basic organisation. You also use signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion.” However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from friendship to exchanges and then to trade without clearly connecting these points. Some linking is inaccurate or repetitive, as in “although, it depends on the individual person,” and the conclusion repeats much of the prompt rather than drawing the discussion together. Use each paragraph to develop one central point, connect examples explicitly to that point, and use referencing and transitions more precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “mutual respect,” “competition,” and “relationship,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, sometimes making the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “sports friendship,” “create competition,” and “approach countries together” are not natural expressions in this context. There are also spelling errors such as “athelets” and “fanatstic,” alongside inconsistent capitalisation of event names. Build a more precise set of phrases for describing international relations and sporting events, and check spelling and collocation when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast structure “While many people think …, others argue …” and the conditional example beginning “if India maintain…”. However, complex attempts are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction can make ideas harder to understand. Examples include “a good way … are international sports events,” “It does not only creates,” and “if India maintain.” The final paragraph also contains sentence-boundary and punctuation problems, including a lower-case “though” after a full stop and a long, awkwardly joined sentence. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from clearly controlled clauses before adding more complexity.
