Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both views: the first body paragraph explains how hosting events can attract visitors and support infrastructure, while the second describes rivalry and conflict between fans. Your own position is less clear, however. The introduction says you will explain why sports improve the economy, which does not directly state whether you believe these events bring countries together or create competition; the conclusion begins to favour cultural exchange but ends before completing the contrast. Some support is also limited: the World Cup example is presented as a general “study” without details, and the personal anecdote illustrates conflict but does not explain how widespread it is. State your opinion clearly and consistently, then develop each view with more specific explanation and examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps readers follow the broad direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical: “moreover” and “furthermore” repeatedly introduce points without showing precisely how they connect. The sentence beginning “Although people do not want to see their country as a loser” is not joined clearly to the next sentence, and the conclusion stops after “while others believe this create a conflict between,” leaving the final idea incomplete. Improve cohesion by linking each example explicitly to the claim it supports, varying transitions, and completing the conclusion with a concise restatement of your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “hosting sports events,” “infrastructures,” “competition,” and “conflict,” so the reader can identify the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “people are craze fan,” “brings people to their nation,” and “against organising international events.” Spelling errors, including “governmnts,” “pubilc,” and “oragnising,” also make the writing less clear and reduce control. Aim for precise phrases that express the intended relationship between events and countries, and proofread spelling. Using a few accurate topic-specific expressions is more effective than repeating general words such as “people” and “event.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional-style explanation and a contrast introduced by “Although.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “this is beacuse people are craze fan of sports players” has problems with sentence opening, verb form, and sentence structure; “when nation organise an event they visit that country and also spending money” shifts awkwardly between verb forms; and “this create a conflict” has subject–verb disagreement. Articles, plurals, and punctuation also need attention. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb forms before adding linking clauses.
