Student answer (Band 6.0)
International level of sports creates friendship among countries or increase competiton among them are two diferent prespectives of general public. It has both advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion it has more benefits.
The olympics and other sports which are organized at international level are good for the economy. The athletes from all over the world travel across countries along with their supporters which increases tourism. Tourisim makes the economy of the country strong. Also the talent from all over the world is polished. People get chance to show their unique capabilities to the world which not only help them earn but also their talent is recognized and appreciated everywhere. The urge to strive for the best not only for themselves but for their country increases patriotism among indviduals. International matches held at different countries increases trade.
On the other hand there are few disadvantages of international sports. The young generation take these sports not as a recreation or source of enjoyment but as a competItion. They take every win and lose personally. Now a days as communication has become easier they fight among themselves online. Some countries which are rivals since their existance take such sports as war and turn sports discussion into abusive argument. Long term enemies are made on base of sports.
In my opinion these events should take place more often as it has more benefits. The equal oppurtunities received by atheletes of every country either its developed or under developed is remakable. Individuals who have some extra ordinary talent are also appreciated. Country as a whole also receive appreciation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the question and state a clear view that international sporting events bring more benefits. The discussion of tourism, athletes’ opportunities and national pride is relevant, while the opposing view is represented through online arguments and rival countries treating matches like conflict. However, the benefits paragraph focuses substantially on economic effects and individual recognition rather than explaining how events build friendship between countries. Likewise, the claim that “Long term enemies are made on base of sports” is broad and not supported with a specific example. Develop the central issue more directly: explain how shared participation or contact can foster understanding, and how rivalry can instead intensify national tensions. This would make the ideas more fully supported and balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding opinion. Signposting such as “On the other hand” and “In my opinion” helps readers follow the shift between views. Within paragraphs, however, ideas sometimes move by association rather than through a clearly explained chain. For example, the benefits paragraph moves from tourism to talent, patriotism and trade without showing how each point relates to bringing countries together. The conclusion also repeats the view and introduces equal opportunities without linking it clearly to the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each supporting point to the paragraph’s main claim; vary linking expressions so the progression feels less list-like.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “athletes,” “tourism,” “patriotism,” “rivals” and “abusive argument,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “organized at international level” and “equal opportunities.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, including “talent … is polished,” “makes the economy … strong,” and “on base of sports.” Spelling errors such as “competiton,” “diferent,” “Tourisim” and “oppurtunities” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations—for example, “develop athletes’ skills,” “boost the economy,” and “on the basis of sporting rivalries”—and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some longer structures, including “The athletes from all over the world travel … which increases tourism” and “People get chance to show … which not only help them earn…”. This shows an attempt to connect ideas through subordinate clauses, and the overall meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors persist, particularly with subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms: “sports … increases trade,” “which not only help them,” and “get chance” need correction. There are also awkward sentence constructions, such as “International level of sports creates friendship … are two different perspectives,” where the subject and verb do not agree. Practise checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and use articles and plural nouns consistently while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
