Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, sports events are very popular,It is beleived by few individuals the best way to bring countries together is international sports events, for example the olympics or football world cup, others think that it create competition rather than friendship between nations,I believe it helps to build a good relation because helps to know about each other culture and help to build the economy of country.
On the one hand, playing games with other nation helps to know about each other culture because if any match is going to take place in any counrty like as, canada the playing team will stay in hotel when they will free they will go outside to eat and to do shopping they will talk with the people outside so it helps them to exchange information. In addition to, it will help to build the economy of country peoples came from different country to watch their loved ones team they spent money for hotel and tourism which is directly improve the economy of a country for example, if someone came one week prior to the match they prefer to do other activity in that days.
On the other hand, some people beleive that it create a competition beacuse one team will win another will loose this things always happen the looser team always think how to win they don`t like to talk with other tem member, for example if India wins the cricket match against pakistan so the people who live in pakistan they dont like talk with Indian people and it can take face of war.
In conclusion, although international sports create competition between nations but it helps to know about each other culture and help to boost the economy of a counrty

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state your own position: international events can build relationships through cultural exchange and economic benefits, while competition may create hostility. These points are relevant, and the examples involving visitors spending money and an India–Pakistan match help illustrate them. However, the supporting ideas are unevenly developed. The cultural-exchange example focuses mainly on players’ activities, and the claim that a sporting loss can “take face of war” is not explained or supported, so it feels overstated. To strengthen the response, explain more clearly how contact between visitors and host communities builds understanding, and qualify the risk of rivalry by distinguishing sporting tension from actual conflict.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion that restates your opinion. The signposts “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” make the discussion easy to follow. Some connections between ideas are less clear, however. In the first body paragraph, the shift from players’ cultural experiences to tourism income is abrupt, while “In addition to” is not used naturally to introduce the next point. Several sentences also run together, making the relationships between clauses harder to follow. Use full stops to separate complete ideas, and make each paragraph’s examples explicitly support its main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “international sports events,” “competition,” “friendship,” “culture,” and “economy.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “exchange information” and “boost the economy.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which can make meaning less precise. For example, “the playing team,” “their loved ones team,” and “take face of war” are unclear or unnatural in context. Spelling errors such as “beleived,” “counrty,” and “loose” also affect the impression of control. Build a bank of accurate phrases for describing cultural exchange, rivalry, and economic impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures such as “if any match is going to take place” and “although international sports create competition.” This shows some range, but errors in sentence formation and control recur. For instance, “because helps to know” lacks a clear subject, and “one team will win another will loose” joins two independent clauses without suitable punctuation or a conjunction. There are also problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “it create” and “which is directly improve.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, particularly where sentences begin after commas. Practise building accurate sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check agreement and punctuation.
