Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this this globalisation, the best national festival is known as sports event in which every human being get to gether in one tabel to enjoy differnt disehes. In simple way many individuls believe that best way to bring nations together is INternation sports like olmpics or football world cup, on other hand other group of natives say that it enhance the competition and friction between neighbour countries. before I conclude wold like to discuss both the views in my upcoming paragraphs.

To set a ball rolling, first group have an ideology that by organisisng the international tournament different socities group can come in one roof and enjoy the event and as a result their bonds will increase, For an example, the country like Pakistan and India said to be enemy of each other and thre was a football world cup in 2021 and the match is in karachi, in the match both teams scores like seashore up and downs and the people of each countries cheer their favourite teams when they score. however, in end India won by two goal and the supporter of pakistan feel demotivated but as a human and show respect towadrs sport they cheer for india win in last and as by this other people also started clapping for runnersup to show the respect hence they both nation come slightly close to each other.

On the flip side, other group of individul say that instead of bringing together it creates the friction and chos like situation. to examplify, in 2022 Olympics in Berlin there was a match between spain and portugel and whole match was good but in the end when spain wins the supporter of portugles started thwroing garbage and spil drinks on grounds and the players.

To conclude, I firmly belive that its totally depend on countries people how they treat sport s and each other, also its shows the ethics and the countries way of reputation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You discuss both views: the first body paragraph presents sports as a way to bring people together, while the next describes hostile reactions after a loss. Your conclusion also gives a personal position, saying the outcome depends on how people treat sport and one another. However, the position is not fully clear or consistently developed: the opening says you will discuss the views but does not state your opinion, and the conclusion remains general. The examples are relevant in purpose, but details such as the Pakistan–India match and the Berlin Olympics are difficult to follow and are not clearly connected to international friendship or rivalry. Explain each example accurately and show more directly how it supports the view being discussed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the discussion. You also use linking expressions such as “On the flip side,” “To conclude,” and “as a result.” At times, however, connections feel mechanical or unclear. For example, “before I conclude wold like to discuss both the views in my upcoming paragraphs” interrupts the introduction, and the long Pakistan–India example moves through several events without clearly separating the main point from supporting detail. Use clearer topic sentences and divide complex explanations into shorter sentences. Make references such as “they both nation” explicit so readers can easily identify who or what you mean.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “international tournament,” “competition,” “friction,” “supporter,” and “respect,” and some choices help convey the two sides of the argument. However, the range is limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations, which sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “one tabel,” “disehes,” “chos like situation,” and “show the respect.” Some expressions, such as “scores like seashore up and downs,” do not communicate the intended idea clearly. Build a reliable set of collocations for sport and international relations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer precise, familiar phrasing over ambitious expressions that do not fit the context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “when,” “but,” and “as a result,” so there is some variety in structure. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries can make the meaning hard to follow. For instance, “every human being get” needs subject–verb agreement, while “first group have an ideology” needs a clearer article and verb form. The sentence beginning “To set a ball rolling” also runs through several ideas without effective punctuation. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them with one clear subordinate clause. Check agreement and tense, and use full stops to separate distinct points.
