Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views: the first body paragraph presents international sport as a way to connect people and governments, while the second explains how national teams can intensify rivalry. Your conclusion also signals a generally positive view, but the position is not fully clear: it mentions negative points before shifting to the benefits of entertainment and opportunity without directly weighing the two sides. Several ideas remain under-developed. For example, “countries grow economically” is asserted without explaining how sporting events lead to this outcome, and the claim that a game can “convert into war” needs a more precise explanation or example. State your opinion directly and support each main point with a clear reason or relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. “On the one hand” and “On the other hand” help signal the contrast, so the overall arrangement is coherent. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The move from supporters meeting governments to “new deals” and economic growth is abrupt, and the final paragraph does not clearly synthesise the discussion or restate a definite position. Some linking is mechanical, and sentence boundaries are occasionally confusing, as in “When people in power visit other countries while suppurt their team they meet…” and the fragments beginning “Events like Olympics…” and “Host an international event…”. Develop one point at a time and connect each example explicitly to the claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “controversies,” “hosting matches,” and “entertainment.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general subject, but the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response harder to understand. Examples include “oversea sports events,” “make good realtions,” “feel the oppnent team as enamy,” and “give a chance to tialented people.” Repeated general words such as “good,” “people,” and “countries” also reduce precision. Build a bank of accurate phrases for cooperation, rivalry, and hosting, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the ideas without relying on broad or unclear expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “While others have completely opposite views” and a conditional-style explanation of how national representation can affect competition. However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. For example, “While others have…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, while “Events like Olympics and Fifa world cup where many countries get togather” lacks a complete main clause. There are also recurring problems with agreement and verb forms, as in “sports event bring” and “a simple game convert,” as well as sentence-boundary and punctuation errors. These issues sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Practise complete sentences, subject–verb agreement, and joining clauses with accurate conjunctions.
