Student answer (Band 5.5)

Recently,Many individual believe that globalization of numerous sport activities are beneficial in uniting the whole nationalities, while others say that the events can trigger competitions majorly between the countries rather than friendsip. In my essay , I partially agree by discussing both views.

There is a considerable debate that many citizens benefit from international sports ,some Individuals are keen to game activities such as footballs, basketball, racing and other sport events. The people will be excited to pertake in these activities because itis one of their daily routines, also it them to develop practice skills in them.Furthermore, when different countries are assembled together in the sports centres it exposes many residents to other countries customs and traditional,as well as other developments.

However, their are people who do not support the recreational activities in there countries because they perceive that it will establish competition rather than creating friendships among one another especially the underdeveloped countries with less motivation for sport activities. As this can serve as a great challenge to the countries. For instance ,sport games like basketball, football, and other top activities will require lots of confident, hardwork and good practice.

In my opinion, I strongly believe that organizing sports events will play a vital role in gathering the whole nations, where they are educated about each countries difference.Although this might create competition among themselves especialy when are trying to look for winners for each sports.

In conclusion, some people supports international sports because they believe its a good way to bring many countries together, whereas other people said that it will only create more competitions and not friendship. However, from my perespective i believe that sports activities will encourage unity and national awareness, although from my experience it can be very competitive especially in finding the winner of each sports.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and give a personal position, particularly in the paragraph beginning “In my opinion,” where you support international events as a way to unite nations while acknowledging competition. However, the discussion is only partially developed. The first view is linked to exposure to other countries’ customs, but the explanation of how this creates friendship or unity remains general. The opposing view is also unclear: the reference to “underdeveloped countries with less motivation” does not explain convincingly why competition would prevent friendship. The examples of basketball and football are named but not used to support a specific argument. Develop each view with a clear cause-and-effect explanation and a relevant example, and state your position more precisely.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, your opinion, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction of the essay. You also use linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “However,” and “In conclusion.” At times, though, cohesion is mechanical or unclear. For example, “As this can serve as a great challenge to the countries” is not clearly connected to the preceding point, and “it them to develop practice skills” has an unclear reference. The conclusion repeats much of the introduction rather than bringing the main reasoning together. Make links between claims and explanations explicit, and use pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “international sports,” “competition,” “customs,” and “unity,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main ideas. However, the range is limited, and noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “friendsip,” “pertake,” “each countries difference,” and “lots of confident.” Some phrases, such as “globalization of numerous sport activities,” are not natural ways to express the intended idea. Build a more accurate set of expressions for describing international events, cultural exchange, rivalry, and cooperation. Check spelling and choose words that fit their grammatical form and context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “Although” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. For example, “when different countries are assembled together … it exposes many residents” has an unclear subject and agreement, while “Although this might create competition…” is a fragment rather than a complete sentence. There are also frequent errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “some people supports” and “especially when are trying to look for winners.” Punctuation and spacing around commas and full stops are inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check agreement and punctuation.
