Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, there is an ongoing debate about whether international sports events such as The Olympics, World cup or Eurobasket are a good way to bring countries together rather than events create competition or not friendship between countries. I firmly believe that international organizations always make people satisfy with cultural exchange.

Firstly, Sports activities could make in different countries every year by sports federations. They announced many years ago which country will be a host and than people have a chance to plan for organization such as buy a fli together and it has significant impact on sharing culture.

Secondly, The games can causes some arguments between different countiries such as political debate or trash talk or fight with other comunities. If they encouraged the fans, it would support holiganism. For instance, there will be a game between Israel team and Turkish team if government cannot control supporters, it would create a fight between team's fans. Depending on, how they organize all things such as journalists, polices or individuals. Therefore, international games may lead to competition like not friendship.

To sum up, I stronly believe that event always help to bring people togetger such as cafes, concerts or bars. When they become together, they would share culture. In same time can cause some holiganism problem but depends on how governments controlling it.ght ticket or book a accommodation. If Mexico organized a Worldcup, visitors would buy a tour from there. It will contribute to bring countries together. Before people watch a games, they may be in same places such as restaurants, pubs or touristic attractions. They have been supporting since before games. Hence, events can create a entertainment for people spent time

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both perspectives: the second body paragraph explains how games can provoke political arguments, hostile fan behaviour and fights, while the other paragraphs present cultural exchange and shared activities as ways events can connect people. Your own view is stated, especially in “I firmly believe” and the conclusion. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening sentence is difficult to interpret, and the conclusion’s claim that events “always help” is stronger than the support provided. Several ideas remain general or incomplete, such as the brief reference to visitors buying tours. Develop each point with a clearer explanation and a specific example, and state your view consistently. The response also includes eight words copied from the task prompt; these are excluded from the length count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “To sum up” help identify the intended structure. However, progression is difficult to follow because ideas are repeated or left unfinished. The conclusion is interrupted by material about Mexico hosting the World Cup, and the final sentence, “Hence, events can create a entertainment for people spent time,” does not clearly complete the argument. Some links, including “Depending on,” are incomplete, while “Therefore” does not clearly follow from the preceding example. Keep each paragraph focused on one main point, place all supporting details before the conclusion, and use linking phrases only when their logical relationship is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “cultural exchange,” “political debate,” “supporters” and “holiganism,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts to use more specific expressions, such as “host” and “touristic attractions.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, for example “make people satisfy,” “buy a fli together” and “create a entertainment.” Spelling errors such as “countiries,” “comunities” and “stronly” are noticeable, and “holiganism” is misspelled. Build a more accurate set of phrases for describing cultural contact, rivalry and fan behaviour, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If they encouraged the fans, it would support holiganism” and “if government cannot control supporters, it would create a fight.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction frequently make the reader work to understand the point. Examples include “there is an ongoing debate” for a debate continuing over time, “The games can causes,” and “When they become together.” The final section also contains a sentence fragment and an abrupt punctuation break. Practise forming complete sentences, matching subjects and verbs, and using articles and verb forms consistently; then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and main verb.
