Student answer (Band 5.0)
International sports is worldwide and it is the only thing that can connect countries in the different walk in life.Either for great connection as friendship or as conflict. We will discuss the point of view in between the two points.
Firstly some rich business people are making it as a funenvolving euge amount of money and wealth And when the team losses its game. The person envolved might creat anger and frustration specially inside the family or the company enlvolved. Some people might do worst actions for the loss. Many friendship and relationship has broken because of the misuse of money that other people are trying envolved.
In the other hand, international sport creats the escence of pride and happiness of the countrymen envloved. This is the time were everyone can take some coffee with strangers, connecting family members and sharing the tentions and excitements through out the game.Like in Dubai, the place where I am working,I observed that every time that there would be a matched peolple are shouting in the street, chanting, singing and celebrating together in regardless of the nationality.
So I can say positive points like creating frienship is more strong point and it creating conflicts. No matter which nationality the person is,it is human nature to love sports.Either lossing or winning.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt to discuss both views and give a clear preference for the unifying effect of sport, especially in the final paragraph. The Dubai example—people of different nationalities celebrating together—supports this position and is relevant. However, the opposing view is only partly explained: the paragraph focuses on anger, family tension and money, without clearly showing how international events create competition between countries. Several claims are also unclear or insufficiently supported, and the conclusion does not fully explain why friendship outweighs conflict. The response is 205 words, below the required 250, so there is not enough space to develop both sides and your opinion fully. Add a specific example of national rivalry and explain the effects before reaching a balanced conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. This helps the reader follow the broad direction, and the Dubai observation gives the positive paragraph a clear focus. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven. The first body paragraph moves from wealthy businesspeople to anger, family relationships and money without making the links between these points sufficiently clear. Connectors such as “Firstly,” “In the other hand,” and “So” signal stages, but some are inaccurate or mechanical, and the opening sentence does not clearly establish the essay’s argument. Improve cohesion by using topic sentences that state each view, then develop one main idea with explanation and an example. Clearer referencing would also help readers understand who is involved in each situation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “pride,” “frustration,” “nationality,” “chanting” and “celebrating,” and the description of people gathering in Dubai conveys the atmosphere effectively. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “funenvolving,” “euge,” “envloved” and “matched.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “the different walk in life,” “the escence of pride” and “creating friendship is more strong point.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “national rivalry,” “hostility,” and “a shared sense of national pride” would help you express the contrast between competition and unity more clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including “This is the time were everyone can take some coffee with strangers, connecting family members and sharing the tentions and excitements through out the game.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, verb forms and punctuation sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “International sports is worldwide” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “When the team losses its game” is an incomplete sentence. The final sentence, “Either lossing or winning,” is also a fragment rather than a complete thought. Use complete sentences, check singular and plural agreement, and separate ideas with appropriate punctuation. Practising accurate complex sentences with “because,” “although” and “while” would help you explain both views.
