Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, international sports events has become increasingly famous in modren society. Many people have started growing intrest in tournament. People have different opinion regarding weather these events are beneficial for bringing different nations together or it build competition between them. This essay will examine both prespective before explaining why I support that these games create friendships amoung different countries.

One school of thought thinks that, these sports events are excellent way for a break form hectic schedule of their life. As individuals plan their trips and take off from their office and visits new countries, where they meet stranges and explore their culture. Resulting, they get atteched to them and develop a relation amoung them. For instance, recently fifa world cup was hosted by canada, and during these days city had different vibe I met many new people made some new friends hangout together and everyone enjoyed. If it was not hapened I would not be able to interact with so many individuals in my city.

While other school of thought says that, they create difference instead of friendship between countries. Not only does these matches create competition between different teams but it also create anger between the fans who support different teams on loosing and winning of matches. People start hate war on social media and criticise other nations about cheating or foul play during games. Consequently, it sometimes create media or political debate. While, people start hating them instead of being friends with them.

Overall it can be easily and logically concluded that it all depends upon person to person about how they thinks. According to me these events are great way of bringing different countries together. As people get too visit and meet new people which can be a life time experience.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your position: the first body paragraph explains how travel and meeting people can build relationships, while the second describes rivalry among fans and disputes over alleged cheating. Your personal example of meeting visitors during the World Cup makes the supportive view relevant. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The first view focuses mainly on individuals’ holidays rather than explaining how the event brings countries together, and the opposing view relies on broad claims about anger and political debate without a specific example. Your conclusion says the outcome depends on the person, which slightly weakens the otherwise clear preference for friendship. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and keep your position consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow the overall discussion. You also use signposting such as “One school of thought” and “While other school of thought” to distinguish the arguments. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: “Resulting, they get atteched to them” does not clearly connect the travel example to stronger relations between countries, and the final paragraph repeats the idea of meeting people without fully resolving the contrast. Some linking phrases are mechanical or awkward, including “Consequently” and the opening “While” in the third paragraph. Use clearer cause-and-effect links and make each paragraph develop one central point in a more orderly sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “competition,” “fans,” “foul play,” and “political debate,” so the main ideas can be understood. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “hectic schedule” and “life time experience.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, for example “modren,” “intrest,” “stranges,” and “atteched.” Some phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “take off from their office,” “different vibe,” and “hate war on social media.” These choices sometimes make the meaning less clear. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning natural collocations for travel, international relations, and sporting rivalry.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including “Not only does these matches create competition … but it also create anger,” and you use subordinate clauses to explain causes and results. However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “events has become” and “these matches … create,” missing or incorrect articles in “are excellent way,” and inconsistent verb forms in “individuals plan … and visits.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention: “recently fifa world cup was hosted by canada, and during these days city had different vibe I met…” joins several ideas without clear separation. Practise agreement, articles, and sentence punctuation, then proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly formed structure.
