Student answer (Band 6.0)
International sporting events, such as the Olympic games and the Football world cup, attract millions of people from different parts of the world. While some people believe that these competitions promote friendship and unity among nations, other argue that they increase rivalry between countries. In this essay, I shall discuss both the perspectives before presenting my own view.
Out of all the arguments, one of the prominent reasons of international sporting events is that it provides an excellent opportunity for people from different cultures and backgrounds to interact with each other. When athletes represent their countries, they do not only compete but also develop mutual respect and understanding. Moreover, spectators from different nations often travel to the same destinations to support their favourite teams, which allows them to share their cultures and traditions. For instance, during recent the Football world cup, visitors from hundred of countries travel to same destinations and live in same environment, crease sense of unity and build friendship. As a result, these events can reduce cultural difference and encourage people to share their traditions to others.
On the other hand, some individuals believe that international sporting events can sometimes become dangerous between nations. This is mainly because people become extremely emotional about their national teams, particularly, when their country loses an important match. In some case, supporters may insult opposing teams or engage in aggressive behaviour. For example, football matches between countries with s historic of political disagreements can sometimes lead to arguments and conflict among supporters. Therefore, rather than friendship, events may occasionally strengthen national divisions.
In conclusion, although international events sometimes become dangerous and increase conflict between countries. I strongly believe that international sporting events are important for every individuals because they can share their cultures, heritages and traditions to other nation's people and also they can build their relationships stronger.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both views and give a clear opinion: the first main paragraph explains how athletes and spectators can build mutual respect, while the second recognises that emotional reactions and political tensions may fuel rivalry. The examples about visitors sharing cultures and supporters arguing are relevant, and your conclusion restates your preference for the unifying effect. However, the supporting ideas are not equally developed. The unity example is difficult to follow (“during recent the Football world cup”) and does not identify a specific event or explain clearly how interaction led to friendship. The conflict example is also hypothetical. To strengthen the response, develop each example with a precise situation and explain its significance, while making the final opinion more directly comparative.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The progression from unity to rivalry is easy to recognise, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This gives the essay a coherent arrangement. Some connections, however, feel mechanical or unclear. “As a result” introduces a conclusion, but the preceding example is not expressed clearly enough to support it; “Therefore” similarly repeats the point about division. The final paragraph begins with “although” but does not complete the contrast smoothly before stating your opinion. Use clearer links between each example and its explanation, and make the conclusion’s contrast one complete, well-connected sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “mutual respect,” “national teams,” “aggressive behaviour,” and “national divisions.” These phrases help communicate both the cooperative and competitive aspects of international sport. You also attempt more formal expressions such as “promote friendship and unity” and “presenting my own view.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, though, and occasionally make the meaning less clear: “crease sense of unity,” “a historic of political disagreements,” and “share their traditions to others.” There are also spelling or form issues such as “hundred of countries.” Aim for more natural combinations and check word forms; for example, use “create a sense of unity,” “a history of political disagreements,” and “share their traditions with others.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex structures, including a relative clause (“which allows them to share their cultures”) and a contrast clause beginning “While.” Most sentences communicate the intended point, but some grammatical errors remain, particularly in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction. For example, “other argue” needs a plural subject and verb agreement, while “it provides” does not agree with the plural subject “events.” In the conclusion, “although international events sometimes become dangerous and increase conflict between countries” is left as a dependent clause, and “every individuals” has an agreement error. Review sentence completeness and subject–verb agreement, and check articles and plural forms. More consistent control of these basics would make your varied sentence structures clearer.
