International sports are becoming most popular in these days. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear preference for the view that sports events bring nations together. The first body paragraph gives relevant reasons, including opportunities for athletes to represent their countries and build relationships; the second recognises that perceived unfairness and excessive competitiveness can cause tension. However, these ideas are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the example of the Milano 2026 Olympics is not developed to show how it would create a stronger bond. The opposing view is also treated briefly, with little explanation of how competition might turn into conflict between countries. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms behind each view and support them with a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. This makes the discussion easy to follow at a basic level, and signposts such as “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help identify the shifts. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, particularly through repeated “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “For instance,” and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the point about players representing themselves does not clearly connect to the claim that relationships between countries improve. The conclusion also repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each reason, explanation, and example explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “international sports events,” “competitive skills,” “unfairness,” and “conflicts.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems make parts of the response less natural or occasionally difficult to interpret. Examples include “a competition feeling,” “chance a winning,” “a week relationships,” and “overcompetitive feeling”; “amond,” “furthetmore,” and “relationaships” are also misspelled. Repetition of “good relationships” and “countries” further limits precision. Build a bank of natural phrases for this topic, such as “foster international ties” and “heighten national rivalry,” and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast in the opening and a conditional idea in “when one country win … this could sometimes create a thought of unfairness.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences awkward or difficult to follow. For example, “I am agree” has an incorrect verb form, “other think” lacks agreement, and “players get a chance” shifts awkwardly from the surrounding past or general statements. Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “a good relationships” and the lower-case sentence beginning “this could help.” Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete sentence patterns before adding more complex clauses.
