Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is considerable debate surrounding around international sports evnts . While one group of the people firmly believe that games like football and other olympics are a best way to built a strong relationships between different nations. Others contend that instead of brotherhood such kind of events can create competition. Although both perspectives have their merits, I am more inclined to believe that olympics are the best way to increase bonding between them. In the upcoming paragraphs I will discuss both the views .
On the other hand, proponents of opposite viewpoint argue that games like football have strong fanbase in every country. Also, many times fans indulge themselves in unneccessary fights in order to support their ideal. For example , Ronaldo plays for purtugul and Messi for Argentina so both the countries have hidden stress to make thier best player win.
However, advocates of other viewpoints contend that games are the only way which can make two nations feel the same emotions at a time. For instance, India and Pakistan are not in good terms with each other but almost all cricket lover from Pakistan adore Virat Kohli a lot .So this the the best example that games does create healthy competition not jealousy.
In conclusion, Although both viewpoints have valid arguments, I am incliend to support that games are the good way to bring countries together. This is primarily because sport gives people something in common beyond their differences. which I consider more significant than the disadvantages assiciated with the alternative perspective.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference for international sport as a source of connection. The examples involving football supporters and the India–Pakistan cricket relationship are relevant, and the conclusion returns to your position. However, the discussion is only partly developed: the claim that fans may fight is not explained in terms of how this creates competition between countries, while the Kohli example is asserted rather than showing how shared admiration builds friendship. The opening also says the events are “the best way” to increase bonding, but the body does not establish why they are better than other ways. Develop each view with a clearer explanation and a more precise example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion, so the reader can follow its broad structure. However, progression within and between ideas is uneven. “On the other hand” introduces the first body paragraph without a clearly established preceding argument, and “However” then signals contrast, but the relationship between the examples and the claims remains unclear. The introduction promises to discuss both views, yet the paragraphs do not consistently explain how each example supports its point. Some linking is also mechanical, and the final sentence begins with a lower-case “which” after a full stop. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, then connect each example explicitly to that claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt some topic-appropriate vocabulary, including “proponents,” “viewpoint,” “competition,” “brotherhood,” and “bonding,” and the main meaning is generally understandable. However, range and control are limited by repeated or imprecise expressions such as “games,” “best way,” and “create competition.” Several word choices and collocations sound unnatural, including “a strong relationships,” “hidden stress,” and “ideal” for a player whom fans support. Spelling errors such as “evnts,” “unneccessary,” “purtugul,” and “assiciated” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise phrases such as “international sporting events,” “national rivalry,” and “support their favourite player,” and proofread spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some attempts at complex structures, including “Although both perspectives have their merits” and “because sport gives people something in common beyond their differences.” These help communicate your overall position. However, errors recur in basic sentence patterns and in more ambitious clauses: “a strong relationships” has article–number disagreement, “the best way to built” uses the wrong verb form, and “games does create” has subject–verb disagreement. Other examples include “almost all cricket lover” and the incomplete construction “So this the the best example.” Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, particularly the lower-case “which” after a full stop. Practise accurate agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms before adding further complex structures.
