Student answer (Band 5.5)
One section of society believes that international sports events such as Olympics or the Football World Cup, are a good option to bring nations together, while others believe that these sports activities create competition instead of friendship, between countries. I believe games are good more to mitigate the political conflicts between two countries and I will share my reason in subsequent paragraphs.
To commence with, some individual think games help to increase tourism and trade oppotunities cross border. In other words If two countries are plaing any sports their palyers meet and with them country leader also meet and enjoy together. This can help them to start friendship and through games they can enhance their courtey tourism which ultimately help their country in economic growth. Furthermore, games provide goos plateform to meet country heads and they can make deals of trade which can help both countries development. For example, sports events can help India and Pakistan to build friendship and open border to uplift tourism in both countries.
On the other hand, some people claim that sports activities enhance conflicts due to high competition and unfair rules. Sometimes people of one country cot ready to accept that their country lost and they start war on social media against other country. These online fights sometimes create bigger issues which can affect realtionship of two nations. For instance, in 2017 Pakistan lost cricket against India and that stated a virtual war on Facebook in betweek people of both countries.
In conclusion, International sprorts events help nations to start friendship nad develop each other with trade and trourism but it can also create issues like war. In my opinion games are best option to bring nations together and forget all the past conflicts and enjoy games.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both views and give a clear opinion: you argue that sporting events can ease political tensions, while also acknowledging that intense rivalry may lead to hostility. The examples involving India and Pakistan make the discussion relevant, and the response addresses the task fully. However, some points are asserted more than explained. For example, the claim that meetings between leaders can lead to trade deals and economic growth would be stronger if you explained how a sporting event might create lasting cooperation. The opposing view is also narrower, focusing mainly on online arguments rather than other forms of competition. Develop these ideas with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning and a more specific example. The response meets the stated length requirement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion that restates your position. Signposting such as “On the other hand” helps readers follow the contrast, and examples are placed alongside the relevant arguments. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger progression expected at the next level. However, links between ideas can feel mechanical, particularly through repeated use of “Furthermore” and “For example,” and some references are unclear, as in “with them country leader also meet.” The conclusion also introduces “forget all the past conflicts” without developing this idea earlier. Use more precise referencing and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “political conflicts,” “competition,” “trade,” and “tourism,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “oppotunities,” “palayers,” “courtey tourism,” and “goos plateform”; phrases such as “start friendship” and “create bigger issues” are also imprecise. These errors sometimes require the reader to work out the intended meaning, which limits the effectiveness of your vocabulary. Build a bank of accurate collocations for international relations and sport, and proofread spelling carefully. Aim to express familiar ideas with precise phrases rather than repeating broad words such as “games” and “issues.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and relative structures, as in “This can help them to start friendship” and “which can affect relationship of two nations.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but control is inconsistent: some complex constructions are faulty, and errors in articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries recur. For example, “some individual think” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “their country lost” needs a more accurate verb construction in context. The opening sentence also has awkward punctuation around the examples. Practise building accurate sentences with subordinate clauses, and check each sentence for a clear subject and correctly formed verb. Greater control of these patterns would make your arguments easier to follow.
