Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a preference in the conclusion: international events can bring countries together, although competition may also lead to hostility. The examples about athletes sharing a village and Pakistan–India fans arguing on social media are relevant, so the response is on topic. However, the discussion is brief and the ideas are not sufficiently explained; for example, you do not show clearly how shared cultural experiences create friendship or how fan conflict affects relations between countries. Your opinion is also difficult to follow in places, especially the unfinished final point. The response contains 151 words, so it is 99 words below the required minimum; 21 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each view with explanation and a fuller example, then state your position clearly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is an attempt to organise the response around the two views, using “On the one hand” and “on the other hand,” followed by a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic sense of the intended structure. However, ideas within these sections are not arranged clearly, and several sentences run together without reliable punctuation, as in “as the result people is better understandamd world is a very peaceful.” The links between claims and examples are also unclear, while “therefor” and “in concuslion” do not make the progression easy to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the two views and your opinion, and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports. Clear sentence boundaries and more precise referencing would make the argument easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “international sports events,” “culture,” “competition,” “friendly,” and “peaceful,” and the examples show an attempt to discuss both cooperation and conflict. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning difficult to understand, such as “competition dood way of together,” “fating both country fans,” and “open hate.” Spelling errors, including “belive,” “eassy,” and “concuslion,” also distract the reader. Build a more precise set of phrases for describing cooperation and rivalry, and check spelling carefully. For instance, explain that athletes “share cultural experiences” and that fans may “exchange insults online,” rather than relying on unclear expressions.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts to form longer sentences and use subordinate clauses, for example, “when different are playing togeother” and “whenever one country are lose the match.” These attempts show an effort to express cause and contrast, but control is weak: verb forms and agreement are often incorrect (“this eassy will discussed,” “people is”), and sentence boundaries are frequently missing. Articles and plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “one same village” and “both country.” These errors often make the intended relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with “when,” “because,” and “although.” Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation in each sentence.
