Student answer (Band 5.5)
International sports events such as Olympics or Football World Cup are only for the entertainment purpose between the countries which encourages a healthy relationship among the countries. However, few people do not agree to this statement. Instead they think they only elevate the competition and hate between the citizens of countries participating these events.
One can say that, majority of the population enjoy the sports events held worldwide such as the Cricket World Cup, the Football World Cup, the Olympics and etc. These events bring the players from different countries under single umbrella to perform. For example, people from different countries come in the stadium as an audience to encourage their teams. They sit together and enjoy the game which help them building their relationship.
Only few may deny that, The events such as Olypics elevate the competition not friendship between the countries. For instance, if any player from any country says any negative thing about any other teams' performace. That will eventually starts a heated arguement among the fans on social media or somtimes between the retired players on the television show.
A holistic view of this topic describes that The international sports events such as Cricket or Football World Cup or Olypics plays a vital role in bringing the people frm different countries together and help them to build a good and healthy relationship between them. Only few people discourage these competitions to avoid the hateful debates on the social media or on the Television between the people including fans and ex-players of different countries participating in any specific sports event.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both views and make your own position clear: you argue that international events generally bring people together, while acknowledging that comments by players can provoke hostility. The examples of spectators sitting together and arguments on social media are relevant to the question. However, the discussion is uneven and remains fairly general. The view that events create competition is mainly illustrated through one hypothetical incident, rather than explaining how national rivalry during matches might undermine friendship. The positive side also needs fuller development: explain more specifically how shared participation or contact can improve relations between countries. A more balanced discussion with developed examples and a clearer distinction between sporting rivalry and lasting international relationships would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph for each view, and a concluding opinion. This makes the overall direction easy to follow, and examples are generally placed with the relevant point. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, with repeated openings such as “For example,” “For instance,” and “A holistic view.” Some links are also unclear: “Only few may deny that” does not clearly introduce the opposing view, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Use more precise referencing and vary the way ideas are connected. Developing each paragraph around a clear claim, explanation, and example would make the organisation more effective.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “healthy relationship,” “competition,” “heated argument,” and “participating events,” and the meaning is generally understandable. There are attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a holistic view,” but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “for the entertainment purpose,” “under single umbrella,” and “elevate the competition” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. Spelling errors such as “Olypics,” “performace,” “somtimes,” and “frm” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable range of collocations for discussing international relations and sporting rivalry, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would help you express the contrast between friendly contact and competitive tension.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional example beginning “if any player…” and a relative clause in “events…which encourages.” However, some errors in agreement, articles, sentence construction, and punctuation are noticeable. For example, “events…which encourages” has a plural subject, while “That will eventually starts” combines an incorrect verb form with an awkward sentence break. In “They sit together and enjoy the game which help them,” the verb should agree with the singular “game,” and the clause needs clearer punctuation. These errors do not prevent the reader from following the main ideas, but they limit control. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb forms, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
