Student answer (Band 5.0)
Olympics is organized at a specific place where teams from all over the world gather and play the football. Even other people from different countries come to watch the football match together in a single stadium.
Those people who says it is a good way to bring countries together have a point of view which says that if more people are together then they share their culture, they make new friends, and also enjoy their time together. And this thing eventually makes people love other people country as well.
But to other people who disagree with this believe say that it creates a competetion between countries. To some extent it is true for those people who only believe in winning or to those people who only think of winning a match and not enjoying it. Then it obviously creates a competition between those two parties because they cannot even see their team or their country losing a match.
In general it comes without saying that both of the believes are true to their nature.
In Conclusion, my opinion will remain neutral regarding this because on a broader level or on a Global level it brings countries together as they are coming to single place. Their focus is going to be at that place. It helps countries to make good relations with other countries but along with it we can also see there are alot of people who do not consider losing a match and it absolutely creates a competition among them. So, they will not make friends among competitors.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You discuss both views and give a personal position, so the response is relevant to the task. The first view is supported with the idea that spectators share culture and make friends, while the opposing view is linked to people who cannot accept their country losing. However, these points remain limited and are not developed with a specific example or much explanation of how international events affect relations between countries. Your position is also not fully clear: you say you are “neutral,” but then mainly repeat that both outcomes occur, rather than explaining which view you find more convincing or under what conditions. Develop each side with a concrete example and state a more definite, reasoned opinion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure: it introduces the topic, presents each view in a separate paragraph, and ends with a conclusion. This makes the main line of discussion possible to follow. However, progression is limited because several points are repeated, especially the ideas of people gathering together and competition arising when a team loses. Linking phrases such as “But,” “In general,” and “In Conclusion” are used, but some connections feel mechanical, and “both of the believes are true to their nature” does not clearly explain the relationship between the views. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one distinct purpose, using clear references, and linking claims to explanations or examples rather than restating them.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “share their culture,” “make new friends,” “competition,” and “good relations.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise, such as repeated references to “people,” “countries,” and “match.” Some word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate: “play the football,” “other people country,” and “a competition among them” do not sound natural in context. There is also a spelling error in “competetion.” These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding the argument, but they reduce precision. Build a wider range of natural phrases for sporting rivalry, cultural exchange, and diplomatic relationships, and check spelling and collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer sentences, including the explanation beginning “Those people who says…” and the final sentence beginning “It helps countries…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors occur frequently in agreement and sentence construction: “people who says” should be “people who say,” and “those people who disagree with this believe say” has an awkward, faulty structure. Articles and plurals are also problematic in phrases such as “at a specific place” and “coming to single place.” The sentence “Their focus is going to be at that place” is grammatically awkward, and punctuation and capitalisation are inconsistent. Use shorter, well-controlled sentences first, then practise complex clauses while checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
