Student answer (Band 5.5)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I was delighted that you asked my feedback about the last concerts. I am writing this letter regarding my feedback to the council.

The concert of Rakesh Kumar, he is famous singer in Bathinda, Punjab. During this summer this concert held in the local park, Bathinda. This was a music concert where thousands of people reached at thier.

I earns to hear his songs. I was went my friends we did lots of fun their and lisnted his songs. I was most enjoy his bhangara and his songs gives me asthetic vibes. Most of the attractive things was decoration of the concernt. The decoration of the concert was eye catching.

If in next summer this concert would be held it may improve more. It would be greatful if you extend the seats and serve water bottles to all people and along with food. This concert would be held in another big place where parking is also avavilable.

Thankyou. I hope my suggestion would be helpful to you.

Yours sincerely,

Madhuri.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you identify Rakesh Kumar’s concert, explain that you enjoyed his songs and the bhangra, and suggest more seating, water, food, and a larger venue with parking. These details make the letter relevant and give the council useful feedback. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, you mention enjoying the music and the decoration, but do not explain what made the performance or atmosphere especially enjoyable. The suggestions are clear, though a brief reason—such as long queues for seats or difficulty finding parking—would make them more persuasive. Overall, the task is covered, but further explanation would make the feedback more complete and specific.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph identifying the concert, a paragraph about your experience, and a final paragraph of suggestions. This helps the reader follow the main purpose. Some links between ideas are less clear, however. The opening repeats the idea of giving feedback in “I was delighted that you asked my feedback” and “I am writing this letter regarding my feedback.” In the concert paragraph, “The concert of Rakesh Kumar, he is famous singer…” joins two ideas without a clear grammatical link, making the progression harder to follow. Use clearer transitions and references, and avoid repeating the same purpose. For example, separate the concert details from your reasons for enjoying it, then introduce suggestions with a direct phrase such as “For next summer, I recommend…”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “eye catching,” “decoration,” “seats,” and “parking,” and the reader can generally understand your meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the message less natural. Examples include “I earns to hear his songs,” “asthetic vibes,” and “greatful”; these do not express your intended meaning clearly or conventionally. “Thousands of people reached at thier” is also an awkward phrase. Aim for accurate, natural collocations such as “I was eager to hear his songs,” “the atmosphere was enjoyable,” and “many people attended.” Proofreading spelling and choosing familiar, precise expressions will improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, and the main message is usually understandable. However, there are some errors in sentence formation, verb forms, and agreement. For example, “The concert of Rakesh Kumar, he is famous singer” is a sentence fragment followed by an unconnected clause; “I was went my friends” has an incorrect verb construction; and “his songs gives me” does not maintain subject–verb agreement. Articles and prepositions also need attention, as in “in the local park” and “reached at thier.” Practise building complete sentences with one clear subject and verb, and check past-tense forms when describing the concert. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas easier to read.
