Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points clearly: you identify the live-music concert by a local band, explain your enjoyment through the performances, atmosphere, sound quality and time with family, and offer three practical suggestions. The positive feedback is supported with relevant details, while the suggestions about seating, stalls and bins are easy for the council to understand. This gives the letter a clear purpose and maintains an appropriate, polite tone. To make the ideas more fully developed, explain the likely benefit of each suggestion—for example, how extra seating would help older visitors or how more bins would reduce litter. A more specific concert name or detail would also make the account more precise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter follows a clear progression: it opens with its purpose, describes what you enjoyed, and then moves to improvements. Paragraphing separates the positive comments from the suggestions, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “Finally” make the recommendations straightforward to follow. The ideas within the enjoyment paragraph also build logically from the performers to the atmosphere and your experience in the park. To make the organisation more polished, use a conventional salutation and closing, and avoid relying on the same sequencing pattern for every suggestion. A brief concluding sentence thanking the council or expressing hope for next summer would give the letter a more complete ending.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for this letter, including relevant phrases such as “lively and enjoyable atmosphere,” “sound quality” and “seating facilities.” These choices communicate your experience and recommendations clearly, and the tone is generally suitable for writing to the council. However, some spelling and word-form errors, including “wrirting,” “suggestion” where a plural is needed, and “sould,” reduce accuracy. A few expressions are also quite general, such as “wonderful songs” and “more food and drink stalls.” Choose more precise wording and check spelling carefully; for example, you could describe the music as “engaging” or the stalls as “refreshment vendors.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The response includes both simple statements and some longer sentences, such as the sentence explaining that the music created an enjoyable atmosphere. Most meaning remains clear, but grammatical control is uneven. Examples include “I am attended” instead of a past-tense form, “by local band” without an article, and “should be provide” instead of “should be provided.” There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary issues, including the missing comma after “Firstly” and the lack of a final full stop. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and modal constructions, and proofread articles, verb forms and punctuation. More consistently accurate sentences would strengthen the range already attempted.
