Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The student has attempted an essay task (labelled as Task 2 despite appearing more like an essay introduction and first body paragraph), but the response suffers from a critical length issue. As noted in the length check, the response contains only 130 words, falling short of the required 150-word minimum. Because the text breaks off mid-sentence ('...according to the article of') and lacks a complete second body paragraph and conclusion, the task is addressed only partially. Ideas are limited and under-developed due to the incomplete nature of the writing. For these reasons, the response meets the criteria for Band 4.0 in Task Achievement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The text demonstrates some organisation with an introductory paragraph featuring a thesis-like statement ('I will strive to discuss the both view points...'). However, the overall progression is severely hindered because the essay is incomplete. Cohesive devices are used awkwardly or incorrectly, such as 'To embark with the statement', which is an unnatural collocation. Furthermore, paragraphing is disrupted by the abrupt cut-off at the end of the text. Referencing and logical progression cannot be fully evaluated as the essay stops mid-thought. Based on the mechanical and faulty cohesion, a band score of 5.0 is appropriate.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The student attempts some topic-related vocabulary such as 'environmental degradation', 'commercial premises', and 'economic development'. However, the lexical range is limited and basic. There are noticeable word-choice errors and unnatural phrasing, such as 'growing papulation the authorities is constructing', where the vocabulary and grammatical linkage fail. Spelling errors ('papulation') also occur. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to show an attempt at discussing the topic, the frequent errors and restricted range place this criterion at a Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many of the complex structures are faulty or incomplete. Examples include 'the primary reason why i hold this view is that, nowadays in the modern era commercial premises can create jobs...' which lacks proper punctuation and flow. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as missing prepositions, capitalization errors ('i'), and a sentence that abruptly terminates. These errors cause some difficulty for the reader and reflect a limited and inaccurate control of grammar and punctuation, warranting a Band 5.0.
