Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response attempts to introduce the writer, Meerab Waseem, detailing educational background and current professional activities. However, the tone and format are informal, resembling a casual personal introduction rather than a structured formal letter or essay typical of General Training Task 1. Although the minimum length requirement is met, the development of ideas remains somewhat conversational and lacks the formal register or clear purpose expected in standard IELTS writing tasks. Key personal details such as the degrees in physical therapy and current M.Phil studies are mentioned, but the elaboration on daily activities could be better structured to directly answer a clear prompt. Because the prompt was unspecified in the provided text, the response is evaluated on its communicative quality and coverage of personal background. It earns a Band 5.5 for partially addressing the personal information task with limited formal development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text lacks proper paragraphing, presented instead as a single block of text. This makes the overall arrangement overly compact and hinders smooth progression. Cohesive devices are minimal and basic, relying heavily on simple conjunctions and conversational transitions like 'after that', 'now', and 'side by side'. Referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the sudden shift into medical camp activities without a strong transitional link from the academic background. While the chronological sequence of the writer's education and career is generally understandable, the absence of paragraph divisions and the mechanical use of cohesive elements place this response firmly in the Band 5.0 range for coherence and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for basic personal recounting, featuring field-specific terms such as 'Doctor of Physical Therapy', 'Epidemiology', and 'Consultant physiotherapist'. However, there are noticeable spelling and capitalization errors throughout the text, including 'Bsically', 'punjab', 'i', 'M.phil', 'Epidemology', and 'Pysiotherapists'. The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, relying on repeated, simple verbs and adjectives. While the lexical choices are sufficient to convey the writer's profession and studies, the spelling inaccuracies and lack of sophisticated phrasing prevent the response from achieving a higher band. Therefore, a score of 5.5 is appropriate for lexical resource.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writing contains a mix of simple and moderately complex sentence forms, such as 'After that i got admission in the same year 2024 in University of Agriculture Faisalabad in M.phil Epidemology and public health.' There are frequent grammatical errors involving capitalization, punctuation, and articles, such as lower-case 'i', missing punctuation before conjunctions, and omission of necessary articles ('in University', 'Senior Pysiotherapists panel'). Complex structures are occasionally attempted, but accuracy is inconsistent. Although communication is not severely impeded and the meaning remains clear, the accumulation of basic grammatical and punctuation errors restricts the score to a Band 5.0.
