Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

The response addresses the topic of technology broadly, mentioning devices like cell phones and computers along with their everyday uses. However, the ideas are presented in a very limited and repetitive manner without clear structure, falling short of fully developing a cohesive point of view. While the writer attempts to mention various aspects of technology such as communication, entertainment, and knowledge acquisition, these points remain largely under-developed and lack sufficient extension. To move forward, the writer needs to clearly present a well-structured argument and expand on specific examples rather than listing general concepts in a single continuous paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

The text lacks any paragraphing, being written entirely as one single, long run-on sentence connected by repetitive conjunctions like 'and' and 'with'. There is no clear overall progression of ideas, and cohesive devices are inadequate and over-used, which makes the text difficult to follow. To improve, the writer must divide the response into logical paragraphs representing distinct points, such as introduction, body paragraphs focusing on specific uses of technology, and a brief conclusion. Using appropriate transitional phrases instead of stringing clauses together with 'and' will greatly enhance the logical flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, relying heavily on simple phrases such as 'playing a vital role' and 'every aspect of life'. There are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'plat form', 'usinh', 'livies', 'rae', 'messgaes', 'pepole', 'aways', 'alos', 'tanke', 'advntages', 'feilds', 'vedios', 'assept', and 'feiled'. These lexical limitations and spelling mistakes strain the reader and obscure meaning. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to expand their vocabulary range, use less common lexical items accurately, and carefully proofread their work to eliminate basic spelling errors.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a very limited range of grammatical structures, consisting almost entirely of a single, run-on sentence punctuated incorrectly with commas instead of periods. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tense consistency, and basic sentence boundaries, such as 'we are usinh this' and 'we can communicating'. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader. To improve, the writer must focus on sentence boundary awareness, separating ideas into distinct sentences with proper full stops, and ensuring accurate subject-verb agreement and verb tense usage.
