Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to give you feedback regarding your recent concert in local park.
I attended the music concert which was held on last sunday. The famous person you invited on concert had a good music taste. I chose this day becuase I heard alot of good reviews about him. He performed in an outstanding way.
I really enjoyed the concert because I had a very tough routine from last two months and I just wanted to attend any good event to relax my mind. The concert made my day becuase I listened several types of song including classical, pop and traditional music whih really helps me to boost my mood.
There are few suggestions for improving next summer concerts is that there should be playing area for children and there should be someone to takecare of them so parents will attend concerts without any worrires. Also, the traditional dishes should be added along with fast food so everyone will eat according to their choices.
I would be grateful to you if you take my suggestions into considerations.
Yours faithfully,
Talliya naz.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the music concert, explain that it helped you relax and lifted your mood, and suggest a children’s play area with supervision as well as more traditional food. These are relevant and give the council useful feedback. The enjoyment section is the most developed, with your busy routine and the range of music explaining your response. By comparison, the concert itself is described briefly, and the food suggestion would be stronger if you explained who it would benefit or how it would improve the event. The letter’s purpose is clear throughout; to make the response more complete, extend these less-developed points with specific details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening purpose, a paragraph about the concert, an explanation of your enjoyment, suggestions, and a polite closing. This makes the main points easy to locate. You also use linking expressions such as “because,” “also,” and “so” to show relationships between ideas. However, some connections feel mechanical, particularly the repeated “there should be” in the suggestions, and the long sentence beginning “The concert made my day” combines several ideas without clear punctuation. Grouping each suggestion into a more controlled sentence and using a few varied transitions would make the progression smoother and cohesion less noticeable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “outstanding,” “traditional music,” “boost my mood,” and “improving next summer concerts.” These choices show some range beyond basic description. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “good music taste” for a performer’s quality, “famous person” for the musician, and “take my suggestions into considerations.” Spelling errors such as “becuase,” “alot,” and “whih” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise event-related vocabulary and check spelling carefully; this would make your meaning more natural and assured while preserving the clear message.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, for example, “I really enjoyed the concert because…” and the sentence explaining that parents could attend without worry. The main meaning is generally understandable, and you use subordinate clauses to explain reasons and results. Some grammatical errors remain, however: “held on last sunday” needs an article or a different time expression, and “There are few suggestions … is that” has faulty sentence structure. In “I listened several types of song,” the verb pattern and plural form are incorrect. Punctuation is also inconsistent in the long sentence about the music. Practise accurate clause construction and review articles, verb patterns, and sentence boundaries.
