Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
As a resident of South Avenue in Sudbury, I am writing to provide feedback regarding my recent experience at The Bell Park.
To provide some specific context, including me, most of the citizen came to attend the music concert of Arijit Singh. In addition, I had also attended the cultural concert.
Regarding the music concert, not only was the music system good, but also the playback singer. I personally enjoyed that night with my friends and it will be one of the most memorable nights in my life.
In light of these circumstances, I would suggest that a better arrangement for a parking space will an ideal solution to counter the traffic jam. Also, it is possible to open a food stall inside the park itself? So the audience can easily enjoy them without travelling to downtown.
I hope you will consider my request favourably, and I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Anshu Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the main requirements by identifying the Arijit Singh music concert, explaining that you enjoyed the music and singer, and suggesting improved parking and a food stall. Your personal detail about spending the evening with friends helps make the positive feedback relevant. However, the second concert is mentioned without explaining its connection to your feedback, and the reasons for enjoying the event could be developed further—for example, by describing the atmosphere or a particular performance. The suggestions are useful but would be stronger with a brief explanation of how they could be implemented. Overall, the task is covered, though some points are less fully explained than others.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall structure: an opening purpose, comments on the concerts, suggestions, and a polite closing. Paragraphing helps distinguish your positive feedback from your recommendations, and phrases such as “Regarding the music concert” guide the reader. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical, however. “To provide some specific context” does not smoothly introduce the concert details, and the shift from the Arijit Singh concert to “the cultural concert” is not explained. The final suggestion is also phrased as a question, which interrupts the flow of the recommendations. Use more direct transitions and make the relationship between each point explicit to create smoother progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for a formal feedback letter, including “provide feedback,” “memorable,” “arrangement,” and “consider favourably.” These choices communicate your meaning and show some variety beyond basic wording. There are also several imprecise or unnatural expressions: “most of the citizen” is not the right form for describing attendees, “music system” is less natural than a phrase referring to the sound equipment, and “counter the traffic jam” is an awkward collocation. “Playback singer” may also be unclear to a council reader; “performer” or “lead singer” would be more straightforward. Aim for precise, natural collocations while retaining the polite formal tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and more complex structures, including the inversion in “not only was the music system good, but also the playback singer” and the conditional suggestion about parking. Most of the message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. For example, “most of the citizen came” has an agreement and plural-form problem, while “a better arrangement for a parking space will an ideal solution” is missing a verb. The question “Also, it is possible to open a food stall…?” would be more grammatically complete as an indirect question or a direct request. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clause structure, and check that paired constructions such as “not only…but also” are balanced.
