Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to give you feedback about my experience of attending concert in the local park.
First of all, I want to tell you that I attended the concert, which happened last saturday. It was a successful event, very well organised and everything went according to the schedule. The security of the park was also remarkable.
I enjoyed the concert a lot because everything was managed very well. The sound system was wonderful. it felt like the whole park was singing. Moreover, many food stalls were arranged, and everything there was very delicious.
Although the event went smooth, there was an issue that people were throwing all the trash in the park. Because there were no proper place to throw garabage. They were throwing all the leftover food in the garden area. So, I suggest you to install more dustbins or other alternatives to throw waste products in it, before arranging the next concert.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Kind regards,
Eman.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the concert as the one held “last saturday,” explain your enjoyment through the organisation, sound system and food stalls, and recommend more bins to deal with litter. The feedback is relevant and the reader can understand your overall positive view. The explanation of which concert you attended is somewhat general, however, and the enjoyment points are mostly listed rather than developed with specific detail. Your improvement suggestion is clear, but could be more fully explained—for example, where bins should be placed or how waste could be collected. This covers the task well overall, while fuller development of some ideas would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: it introduces its purpose, describes the event and your enjoyment, then raises a problem and offers a suggestion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “First of all,” “Moreover” and “Although” guide the reader. Some connections are less smooth: “Because there were no proper place…” is a fragment, and the repeated references to the event being well managed make the progression feel slightly repetitive. The shift from the litter problem to the recommendation is understandable, but could be joined more directly. Overall, the organisation is coherent, with some mechanical linking and occasional disruption to cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “security,” “sound system,” “food stalls” and “leftover food.” Some choices are effective for this context, but the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “attending concert,” “went smooth,” “proper place to throw garbage” and “alternatives to throw waste products in it.” There is also a spelling error in “garabage,” and “last saturday” needs a capital letter for the day. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more accurate collocations and a wider range of precise terms would make the letter sound more natural and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex forms, including the relative clause “which happened last saturday” and the concessive opening “Although the event went smooth.” Most of the message remains understandable, and the sentences generally communicate their intended meaning. Some grammatical errors remain: “attending concert” needs an article, “there were no proper place” has a number-agreement problem, and “I suggest you to install” uses an incorrect verb pattern. “Because there were no proper place…” is also an incomplete sentence, while the lowercase “it” after a full stop shows a punctuation and capitalisation lapse. Greater accuracy with articles, agreement and sentence boundaries would strengthen the response.
