Student answer (Band 6.5)

Dear Sir/Madam

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to provide my feedback on one of the free concerts held in our local park last week.

I attended a music concert at which famous singers performed. Moreover, there were other local artists permforming in the concert incredibly.

I personally really enjoyed this event because I am a great fan of music and listen to varities of melodies and songs. The way all the music artists engaged people in the concert through their performance was beyond imagination. I also got the chance to meet my favourite singer Diljit Dosanjh which made me extremely happy. Additionally, this concert gave the opportunity to listen to classic songs, making experience more memorable.

However, I would like to offer a few suggestions to make concerts more engaging for next summers. There were issues with limited seating arangements for the audience, that gave some problem during the concert. As a result, it be would be great if proper seating arrangments can be done next time as well as some refreshments could be provided to the people which will make experience more great.

I hope you will consider my suggestions, and I look forward to attending more amazing concerts in the summers.

Yours sincerely,

Ramandeep Kaur.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You address all three points clearly: you identify the event as a concert featuring famous singers and local artists, explain your enjoyment through your interest in music and meeting Diljit Dosanjh, and suggest more seating and refreshments. The personal detail about meeting your favourite singer makes the feedback engaging, while the seating problem gives a relevant reason for your recommendation. Your purpose and generally positive view remain clear throughout. To strengthen the response further, develop the concert description and suggestions with a little more specific detail—for example, name the musical style or explain how seating could be organised. The suggestion about refreshments is relevant but would benefit from a clearer explanation of how it would improve the event.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The letter has a clear progression: an opening purpose, a description of the concert and reasons for enjoying it, suggestions for next summer, and a polite closing. Paragraphing supports this structure, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Additionally,” and “As a result” help connect points. The reader can follow your main message without difficulty. At times, however, several ideas are packed into one paragraph, and some links feel more like a list than a development—for instance, the transition from meeting the singer to listening to classic songs. Grouping related details more deliberately and using a few more precise references between sentences would make the progression smoother and less dependent on explicit connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the concert experience and your recommendations, including “engaged people,” “memorable,” and “limited seating arrangements.” There is some variety in how you describe your enjoyment, and the tone is appropriate for a feedback letter. However, several spelling errors and awkward word choices reduce precision, such as “permforming,” “varities,” and “arrangments.” Phrases including “the concert incredibly” and “make experience more great” are also unnatural. Aim for accurate collocations and more specific wording rather than relying on general terms such as “amazing” and “great.” Proofreading spelling and checking how words combine would make your vocabulary more controlled and effective.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“because I am a great fan of music”) and a result clause (“which made me extremely happy”). Most sentences communicate their meaning, and the letter’s overall message remains clear. Some grammatical errors are present, however. For example, “it be would be great” has an incorrect word order, and “making experience more memorable” needs an article or possessive before “experience.” In “the audience, that gave some problem,” the relative clause is not formed appropriately. Review article use, clause construction, and word order, then proofread longer sentences carefully. More consistent accuracy in these areas would improve control while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
