Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir,
I hope this letter finds you well.I am writing to provide feedback on my recent experience of free concerts in our local park, which were organised by a local council.
I have attended all the events, and the main reason for my writing is to explain the experience in detail. I was particularly impressed by the high standards of events despite having no entry fee. All the halls were spacious and perfectly organised to accomade large number of people. In addition, on arrival of Atif Aslam, audience gone crazy, and his performace was excellent as always. I would like to express my satisfaction with this concert, and what I appreciated the most was the warm and welcoming environment.Overall, everything went smoothly and it was a memorable experience.
However, there were few aspects that could have ben improved. One of the main problem was the delay, which caused considerable inconvenience. Due to delay, people started frustrating when they were waiting. I would suggest to do few measures to solve this issue. Better time management could help avoid similar problems in future.
I hope you will take my suggestions into consideration and impliment these suggestions to ensure future events run smoothly.
Yours faithfully,
Aqsa

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the main requirements by identifying Atif Aslam’s performance, explaining that you enjoyed the quality of the show and its welcoming atmosphere, and suggesting better time management. These points are relevant and the reader can understand your overall positive experience. However, the task asks which concert you attended, while “I have attended all the events” makes this less specific; name the particular concert directly. Your reasons for enjoyment are also more fully described than your improvement suggestions: the delay is mentioned, but the proposed solution remains general. Explain, for example, how the council could keep performances on schedule or inform attendees about delays.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening, a paragraph about the concert, a paragraph on problems and improvements, and a closing. The contrast signalled by “However” helps the reader follow the shift from praise to criticism, and the ideas are generally easy to understand. Cohesion is sometimes mechanical, though, with repeated links such as “In addition” and “I would suggest,” and some transitions are not clearly punctuated: “Overall, everything” and “However, there” need spaces. The opening also says you attended all events before focusing on one concert, which weakens the progression. A more direct sequence—identify the concert, describe what worked, then explain the delay and specific remedies—would make the letter flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for a feedback letter, including phrases such as “high standards,” “considerable inconvenience,” and “warm and welcoming environment.” These help convey both praise and criticism, and the meaning remains clear despite some inaccurate choices and spelling slips. Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “all the halls” for an outdoor park concert and “people started frustrating”; “the audience became frustrated” would be more idiomatic. There are also spelling errors in “accomade,” “performace,” “ben,” and “impliment.” Check spelling carefully and choose vocabulary that fits the setting. More precise language for the suggested improvements would also strengthen the response.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “concerts in our local park, which were organised by a local council” and the conditional idea “could help avoid similar problems.” Some sentences are accurate and the message is generally understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation remain. For example, “audience gone crazy” needs a finite verb (“the audience went wild”), and “there were few aspects” needs an article (“a few aspects”). “One of the main problem” should be “one of the main problems,” while “I would suggest to do” needs a different construction, such as “I would suggest taking.” Review sentence boundaries and spacing after full stops as well.
