Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this for the feedback about the concert which I attended last weekend. There are series of concerts organized by local council in our local park. Fortunately, I got the chance to attend concert of Punjabi singer named Cheema on Sunday.
I enjoyed the concert because it was organized on convenient day. More people were able to join the concert on their day off. Moreover, I liked the concert because it was in my native language and our native artist. It gave me an escape from my hectic schedule and life. I got chance to make memories with my loved ones.
However, there were some drawbacks. I would appreciate it if you would consider them for next summer's concerts. This years concerts were organized during the day which make people little bit uncomfortable in the sun. I would like to suggest that you could organize the concert in the evening. Moreover, there should be arrangement of more garbage bins because I noticed a lot of litter in the park after the concerts due to shortage of bins in different areas.
I hope you will consider my feedback and plan to make improvements in the upcoming concerts.
Yours Faithfully
Kiran

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three requirements: you identify the Punjabi singer Cheema’s Sunday concert, explain that the convenient day, familiar language and chance to spend time with loved ones made it enjoyable, and suggest evening scheduling and more rubbish bins. These points are relevant and your polite, consistent purpose is clear. The reasons for enjoyment are supported with personal detail, such as escaping a hectic routine and making memories. The improvement suggestions are also specific, especially the link between daytime heat and discomfort. To develop the response further, explain a little more about the concert itself—for example, what you enjoyed about the performance—and clarify whether the event was held during the day or on Sunday evening, since the timing is not entirely clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear progression: it introduces the event, explains what you enjoyed, then moves to drawbacks and recommendations before closing politely. Paragraphing supports this structure, and linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “I hope” help the reader follow your points. The contrast between positive feedback and suggested changes is particularly easy to understand. Some connections are a little mechanical, however, because “Moreover” introduces several separate points, and the opening repeats the idea of the local council’s concert series before moving to the event you attended. You could make the progression more natural by combining closely related details and using more varied links, while keeping each paragraph focused on one purpose.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task and includes relevant expressions such as “hectic schedule,” “drawbacks,” “shortage,” and “consider them.” These choices communicate your experience and recommendations clearly, and the reader can understand the intended meaning throughout. There are some inaccurate or unnatural word combinations, including “writing this for the feedback,” “concert of Punjabi singer,” and “arrangement of more garbage bins.” “Native language and our native artist” is also repetitive and imprecise. Aim for more natural collocations and precise wording, such as “provide feedback,” “a concert by the Punjabi singer,” and “install additional bins.” This would make the letter sound more fluent and appropriately formal without requiring more elaborate vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more developed sentence forms, including a conditional request (“I would appreciate it if you would consider them”) and a reason clause (“because I noticed a lot of litter”). Most sentences are understandable, and grammatical errors do not prevent the reader from following your message. Some errors remain in articles, agreement, tense and sentence construction. For example, “There are series of concerts” needs an article, while “which make people little bit uncomfortable” has a tense/agreement problem and is missing an article before “little bit.” “I got chance” also needs an article. Review these patterns and check that verbs agree with their subjects; more consistent accuracy would strengthen the letter.
