Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this in response to your council's feedback request. I really liked your decision of organising series of free events and I was honoured to attain one of the concerts recently which was focused around local cultures of the town at the center of the park.
I really loved how local and new artists are getting chance to represent themselves on your plateform. The way they depicted our culture was very respectfull and mesmerizing. I enjoyed the overall theme and decorations as well including those cardboard statues and background story telling along with the concert which was very effective for childeren to grab and understand our rich culture.
I have nothing to complain about the concert, performance and decorations specifically but eventhough I was little disappointed by management where the arrangements for people with disability was very minimal and conditions of washrooms were also bad.
In the end I just want to thankyou for organising this event.
Your faithfully,
Kirat.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the main purpose and identify the concert as one focused on local culture, explaining that you enjoyed the artists’ performances, cultural presentation, decorations and storytelling for children. You also give relevant feedback about accessibility and the washrooms. However, the request for suggestions to improve next summer’s concerts is only partly fulfilled: saying disability arrangements were minimal and washrooms were in poor condition identifies problems, but you do not clearly propose actions the council could take. The reason for attending or the concert’s specific identity could also be clearer. To strengthen the response, turn each criticism into a practical recommendation, such as providing accessible seating and improving restroom maintenance, while developing the positive points with a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a generally clear sequence: you introduce the purpose, describe what you enjoyed, mention concerns, and close with thanks. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and the reader can follow your overall message. Some connections are less effective, however. The transition “but eventhough” is awkward and makes the shift from praise to criticism harder to follow, while “In the end” is a rather mechanical way to introduce the closing. The long second paragraph also combines several positive points without clearly separating them. Use straightforward transitions such as “However” and “In addition,” and organise the feedback so that each paragraph has a distinct focus. This would make the progression more consistently smooth and the suggestions easier to identify.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “local artists,” “depicted our culture,” “decorations,” and “arrangements for people with disability.” Words such as “mesmerizing” and “effective” help convey your positive reaction. Some spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, though they do not prevent the reader from understanding you: “plateform” should be “platform,” “respectfull” should be “respectful,” and “attain” is not the natural verb for attending a concert. Phrases such as “getting chance” and “conditions of washrooms” are also awkward. Aim for accurate, natural collocations, especially when describing the event and making recommendations. For example, “accessible facilities” and “poorly maintained washrooms” would express your concerns more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “artists are getting chance to represent themselves” and the longer sentence describing the decorations and storytelling. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors appear in these structures. For example, “artists are getting chance” needs an article or plural form, and “arrangements for people with disability was” has a subject–verb agreement problem; “arrangements … were” is required. The sentence beginning “I enjoyed the overall theme” is also overloaded, making its structure difficult to control. Check articles, agreement and sentence boundaries, and consider splitting long sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentence forms clearer.
