Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir,
I am writing to inform you about the feedback of the free concerts which was held in the local park.
I attended the concert which was hold on 7 february. Where many singer arrived at live concert. They gave their performance very well.
I really enjoyed it. Because my favourite singer also gave their performance. Which I enjoy the most. First time I saw live gathering of people on any concerts otherwise I see it on social media. My friends were also with me. Moreover, we did lot of fun like do a dance on the songs.
Although everything was good, but some improvements are needed. Firstly, less number of chairs. people attended the show by standing. There were not seats for their seating. There should be arrangement of water in cocerts which will be organise in upcoming summer.
I would be gratefull if you could do these improvements.
Yours Faithfully,
Name

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You cover the three requested points: you identify the concert date, explain that your favourite singer performed and that you enjoyed attending with friends, and suggest more seating and water. These details make the letter relevant and show a clear positive response. However, some parts are only partly developed: “7 february” does not identify the concert or performer clearly, and the reasons for enjoying it are listed rather than explained in detail. The improvement requests are useful, but could be more specific—for example, estimate how many extra chairs are needed or suggest where water stations should be placed. A clearer account of the event and fuller explanation of your suggestions would make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable overall structure: an opening, a paragraph about the concert, a paragraph of feedback and suggestions, and a closing. Sequencing words such as “Firstly” and “Moreover” help connect some points, and the reader can follow the general message. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The short fragments “Where many singer arrived…” and “Which I enjoy the most” interrupt the flow, while “Although everything was good, but…” uses two contrasting signals together. The ideas about the singer, seeing a live crowd, and dancing could be linked in a more continuous paragraph. Use complete sentences and clearer links between each reason and its supporting detail to improve progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main message, including “free concerts,” “live concert,” “performance,” “chairs,” and “arrangement of water.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, such as “feedback of the free concerts,” “gave their performance very well,” and “do a dance on the songs.” Spelling errors in “february,” “cocerts,” and “gratefull” also reduce accuracy. These choices do not prevent the reader from understanding the overall meaning, but they make parts of the letter less clear and natural. Practise common collocations for events and feedback, and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts some longer structures, including “Although everything was good…” and “I would be grateful if you could…,” but control is uneven and many sentences contain grammatical errors. For example, “which was hold” has an incorrect verb form, and “Where many singer arrived…” and “Which I enjoy the most” are incomplete sentences. There are also problems with agreement and tense in “my favourite singer also gave their performance” and “First time I saw live gathering.” The sentence “Although everything was good, but…” combines contrasting structures incorrectly. Focus on forming complete sentences, using consistent past-tense verbs, and checking subject–verb agreement and articles. More accurate simple sentences would make your meaning easier to follow.
