Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to appreciate regarding the concerts you organize in the public park. I attended the musical concert with a famous celebrity who sang a lots of my favorite songs.
Although, the park was full of audience with a very less sitting arrangement so their was a less space to even stand, the music was so mesmerizing. The amazing part was one of the artist invited the man from the audience who danced during the performance.
I suggest the council can organize more of these concerts in the upcoming times so that more people can attend these gatherings and funds can be increased for the community purposes and other works can be done for the community.
Your's sincerely,
Rini

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify the concert as a musical performance featuring a celebrity and explain that you enjoyed the music and the audience participation. You also make a relevant suggestion to hold more concerts. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the concert is not identified specifically, and the reasons for enjoying it are brief. The suggestion focuses on increasing the number of events and community funds, but does not respond to the practical problem you describe—insufficient seating and space. The response is also 28 words below the required minimum, leaving little room to develop the feedback. Add specific details about the concert and explain how the council could improve facilities and organisation next summer.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure: it opens with the purpose, describes the event, and ends with a suggestion and sign-off. The ideas are generally understandable, and the contrast introduced by “Although” helps connect the crowding with your enjoyment of the music. However, the progression is limited, with the feedback and recommendation compressed into a few paragraphs. The long final sentence combines holding more concerts, increasing attendance, raising funds, and community work, so the relationship between these points is not clear. Separate the positive feedback, the problem, and your recommendations into clearer stages, and use linking phrases to show how each suggestion follows from your experience.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “mesmerizing,” “performance,” and “audience,” which helps convey your positive reaction. There are also attempts at more formal language, such as “community purposes.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “appreciate regarding” does not express your purpose naturally, “a lots” is incorrect, and “a very less sitting arrangement” is unclear. “Upcoming times” is also an awkward way to refer to future summers. Choose precise, natural phrases such as “provide more seating” and “hold more concerts next summer.” This would make your feedback clearer while retaining an appropriately formal tone.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Although” and a relative clause in “the man from the audience who danced.” The main message remains understandable. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. In “Although, the park was full of audience … so their was a less space,” the punctuation after “Although” is incorrect, and the sentence combines contrasting and result clauses awkwardly. “Their was” should be “there was,” while “a less space” has an incorrect article with an uncountable noun. The closing “Your’s sincerely” also has incorrect apostrophe use. Build shorter, well-controlled sentences and check articles, agreement, and punctuation before adding more complex structures.
