Student answer (Band 6.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in response to your request for guest feedback regarding concerts they have attended. I attended on June 12th, 2026 and rock band was performing. The concert was outsanding and music performances were amazing and lots of fun activities to enjoy at park.

Firstly, local rock band performed their best songs followed up by stunts show on the ramp by those super talented stuntsman and to close the night with classical music have been eyecatching.

Moreover, food court was also one of the key highlight of the show. As it was featuring wide range of food cuisines and options like Indian, Italian, Chinese, etc. Due to which, my issue for finding vegetarian food was mitigated.

However, amount of people was at concert was alarming, as there space was so conjested and lots of rushing and foot traffic were biggest drawback of it. My suggestion is to keep the ticket sales controlled to let every one enjoy in next summer's concert.

Thank you for this amazing experience and considering my feedback. Looking forward to next summer's conerts.

Yours faithfully,

Bhavin

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address all three points: you identify the June 12 concert, describe the rock band, stunt show, classical music and food options, and suggest controlling ticket sales to reduce crowding. The positive reaction is clear, and the vegetarian-food detail gives a specific reason for enjoying the event. This meets the task well, though some parts are more fully developed than others: the reasons the performances were enjoyable are mostly asserted as “amazing” or “eyecatching” rather than explained, and the improvement suggestion is limited to ticket numbers. To strengthen the response further, explain how crowding affected your experience and add a practical measure, such as better crowd management or more space for visitors.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, positive comments, a paragraph about food, a contrast introducing the main drawback, and a closing. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “However” help signal the movement between points. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the progression within the first body paragraph is not always clear: the rock performance, stunt show and classical music are combined in one sentence. The sentence beginning “As it was featuring…” is also a fragment, making the link to the food-court point less smooth. Use clearer paragraphing for the concert highlights and the problem, and connect each example with complete, logically linked sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “food cuisines,” “vegetarian food,” “foot traffic,” and “ticket sales,” and these choices communicate the main points. There are also attempts at more descriptive language, such as “key highlight” and “alarming.” However, several spelling, word-form and collocation errors reduce precision, including “outsanding,” “conjested,” “stuntsman,” and “eyecatching.” Some phrases are unnatural, such as “music performances were amazing” and “amount of people.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations rather than adding elaborate wording: for example, “the performances were impressive” and “the number of people was high.” Proofreading spelling and choosing standard collocations would make your meaning more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “As it was featuring…” and a contrast introduced by “However.” The overall message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “I attended on June 12th, 2026 and rock band was performing” needs a clearer verb pattern and articles, while “amount of people was” has a number-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “As it was featuring…” is incomplete, and “to close the night with classical music have been” has an unclear structure and verb form. Practise complete sentences, article use, and agreement; then check that each clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
