Student answer (Band 5.5)

Dear Sir and Madam.

I hope you are doing well, the reason of writing this letter to provide feedback of free concerts in your local park, which I attended one of the concert. I have attend the singing concert with my friend and family. I really enjoyed this concert because their were so many opportunities like, meeting with celebrities, provide free vouchers for playground, and somehow their were small space for old ages for resting. This concert was well managed and give oppertunity for poor people to attend and enjoy.

In my opinion, there should be alots space for resting area for old people and provide local store for snacks because we were very hungry at that time. Moreover, the staff should be active because we were calling him many time and they come very late. They were busy at all, that why I am complaning.

I am very satisfied, in your management and give poor people oppertunity to meet celebrities and attend singing concert for free.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you identify a singing concert, explain that you enjoyed meeting celebrities and receiving free vouchers, and suggest more seating, snack stalls and more responsive staff. These details make the letter relevant and give the council useful feedback. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, “small space for old ages for resting” indicates a need for more seating, but does not clearly describe the problem or the improvement needed. The reason for staff delays is also unclear, and the final paragraph repeats your satisfaction rather than adding a distinct point. Develop each suggestion with a brief explanation of how it would improve the event, and make the concert description more specific.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable letter structure, with an opening, a paragraph about the concert, a paragraph of suggestions and a closing comment. The ideas are generally grouped by purpose, and connectors such as “Moreover” help signal an additional suggestion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first paragraph moves quickly from celebrities to vouchers and seating, while the final paragraph repeats earlier praise. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “their” and “they” do not always make clear whether you mean the concert, staff or attendees. Organise the feedback into a clear sequence—what you attended, what worked well, and what should change—and use precise references and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main feedback, including relevant terms such as “vouchers,” “playground,” “resting area” and “staff.” There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as “well managed” and “free concerts.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. For instance, “singing concert” is not a natural way to describe the event, and “old ages” does not clearly refer to older people. Spelling errors such as “oppertunity” and “complaning” also affect accuracy. Build a bank of natural event-related phrases and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a suggestion introduced by “Moreover.” The main message is usually understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction occur often enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “I have attend” needs a past participle, and “their were” should use the subject form “there.” The opening sentence joins two complete ideas with a comma, while “I am very satisfied, in your management” has an unnecessary comma and an unclear grammatical pattern. Practise accurate past-tense reporting and sentence boundaries, then check subject–verb agreement and articles in each sentence.
