Student answer (Band 5.0)

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hope this message finds you well.

I am writing to give you an honest feedback about this summer conccerts in London and I want to draw your attention to many issues ocured during the concert I attended.

Firstly, I attended the last summer concert which held in London at 21st August 2026.

It was the largest concert in this summer and I have noticed there were many people from different countries attended to this concert.

Secondly, I really enjoyed in this concert because the vibes was joyful and the singer and music team were perfect. Also, the seats were convenience.

Finally, I have a suggestion may help you to improve your next summer concerts, please enhance your sound system by adding more high quality speaker devices.

Please don't

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the concert you attended and give reasons for enjoying it, including the joyful atmosphere, the performers and the seating. You also make a relevant suggestion about improving the sound system. However, the feedback is only partially developed: the concert is identified vaguely as “the last summer concert,” and the suggestion is not explained or supported with a specific example of what went wrong. The opening mentions “many issues,” but these are not described. The response also falls 17 words short of the required minimum, which limits the space available to address the council’s request fully. Add details about the music or audience experience and explain how better speakers would improve future events.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening followed by points introduced by “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally.” This helps the reader locate the concert details, your enjoyment and your suggestion. However, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and the opening promises “many issues” without explaining them, which makes the connection to the later positive comments unclear. The final line, “Please don't,” is incomplete and leaves the letter abruptly unfinished. Use paragraphs to group each purpose, connect the suggestion to a specific experience, and finish with a complete closing sentence and sign-off. These changes would make the organisation feel more complete and less dependent on sequencing words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, such as “concert,” “singer,” “sound system” and “high quality speaker devices,” so the main subject is understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, including “an honest feedback,” “enjoyed in this concert,” and “the seats were convenience.” The spelling errors in “conccerts” and “ocured” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural phrases such as “provide feedback,” “enjoyed the concert,” and “the seats were comfortable.” More precise language to describe the performance and atmosphere would help you express your opinions clearly and avoid repeating general terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response includes simple sentences and attempts to link ideas with “because” and “which,” but the range of structures is limited and errors occur frequently. For example, “the last summer concert which held” needs a passive verb form, while “the vibes was” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. In “there were many people from different countries attended,” the clause structure is faulty; use either “many people from different countries attended” or “there were many people from different countries.” Articles and prepositions also need attention, as in “at 21st August” and “the singer and music team.” Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and build longer sentences from correctly formed clauses.
