Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I hope this message finds you well.
I am writing to give you an honest feedback about this summer conccerts in London and I want to give you an advice to improve your next concerts.
Firstly, I attended the last summer concert which helded in London city at 21st August 2026.
It was the largest concert in this summer and I have noticed there were many people from different countries attended to this concert.
Secondly, I really enjoyed this concert because the vibe was joyful and the singer and the dancers were amazing. Also, the seats were convenient.
Finally, I have a suggestion that may help you to improve your next summer concerts, please enhance your sound system by adding more high-quality speakers devices and changing the current microphones to reduce the amount of noise.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further information.
Yours faithfully,
Ahmed Ali

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the concert as the one held on 21 August, explain that you enjoyed the joyful atmosphere, performers and seating, and suggest improving the sound equipment. The purpose and polite tone are clear. The response therefore covers the task, but some ideas are less fully developed than others. For example, “the singer and the dancers were amazing” gives a positive opinion without explaining what made their performance memorable, and the sound-system suggestion would be stronger if you described how noise affected your experience. Also clarify the event’s name or musical style, rather than referring only to “the last summer concert,” so the council can identify it precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening purpose, separate paragraphs for the event and your enjoyment, a suggestion, and a courteous closing. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “Finally” make the sequence easy to follow, and the reader can understand the main points. However, these transitions feel somewhat mechanical, and the first paragraph combines the feedback purpose with advice about future concerts before the letter develops either point. The progression would be more natural if each paragraph had a clear focus and the ideas were linked through their meaning—for instance, connect your enjoyment of the performers to a specific detail, then introduce the sound issue as a practical improvement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main message, with relevant terms such as “joyful,” “sound system,” “high-quality speakers,” and “reduce the amount of noise.” However, several noticeable word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems limit precision and naturalness. “An honest feedback” and “an advice” use uncountable nouns incorrectly, while “speakers devices” is an awkward combination. “Conccerts” is also misspelled. Some wording is broad, such as “amazing,” “convenient,” and “vibe”; more precise descriptions would make your evaluation more informative. Aim to use natural collocations and check spelling carefully, especially in the opening and recommendation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple sentences and longer structures, including the reason clause in “I really enjoyed this concert because…” and the purpose clause “to reduce the amount of noise.” The message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. For example, “which helded” needs a passive construction (“which was held”), and “I have noticed there were many people … attended” combines verb patterns awkwardly; a clearer version is “I noticed that many people from different countries attended.” The date phrase also needs a more natural grammatical form, such as “on 21 August.” Review past-tense and passive forms, and keep sentence structures controlled when adding detail.
