Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points in the task: you identify the performance as a concert by a local band, explain that you enjoyed hearing the band live and meeting the performers, and suggest inviting more local acts and allowing them to perform more songs. These are relevant ideas, and the overall positive opinion is clear. However, some points are less fully developed: the concert is not identified more specifically, and the suggestions are difficult to interpret in places, particularly the request about how many songs each band should sing. Explain how these changes would improve the audience’s experience, and use clearer details to make your feedback more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response follows a broadly sensible order: it introduces the feedback, describes the concert, and then offers suggestions and an overall judgement. This gives the reader a general sense of your message. However, nearly all the content is presented as one long sequence, with ideas joined by repeated forms of “and” and “because.” This makes the progression difficult to follow, especially where the description shifts from the band’s performance to the audience’s reaction and then to recommendations. Divide the letter into clear paragraphs and use linking phrases selectively. Full stops would also help separate the main points and make the relationships between them clearer.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary to describe the event and your reaction, including “talented,” “friendly,” “approachable,” and “enjoyable.” These words help communicate your positive impression. However, the range is limited by repetition of “concert,” “band,” “people,” and “excited,” and several expressions are unclear or unnatural, such as “chilling moment,” “famous local band artist,” and “make people contented.” Spelling errors such as “beacause” and “athe” also reduce accuracy. Choose more precise phrases for the performance and audience response, and check spelling and collocations so your meaning is conveyed more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example when describing the band’s singing and the audience’s reaction, and the main message can generally be understood. However, sentence boundaries and punctuation are often inaccurate, creating run-on sentences. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement, such as “they are started singing,” “the people was shouted,” and “most of the member … was handsome.” Tense shifts between “attended,” “are,” and “were” make the account less controlled. Practise forming complete sentences with consistent past tense, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, and plural forms. Breaking complex ideas into shorter sentences will improve accuracy and clarity.
