Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to share about my feedback of free concert which was organised by local council in local park in last week. I attended a music concert last sunday. I really enjoyed it.
I felt happy and enjoyed with my family and friends. The role of music concert and musician was adorable and everyone enjoyed it. It was the affordable concert for all age of groups and many singers were come on this music concert.
I would like to suggest some improvements for next summer's concert. Firstly, to arrange chairs for audience to see concert with comfortable. Secondly, to install more food stalls and drink stalls for children. Thirdly, to arrange the more dustbin in park and sure that the people would not throw garbage there and there. Finally, I invited mare singers in the concert for attracting the audience.
Thank you for organising the concerts and i hope you will improve the next summer's concert.
Yours faithfully,
A local resident.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address all three points: you identify the event as a music concert, explain that you enjoyed it with family and friends, and offer several suggestions for next summer. The recommendations about seating, food and drink stalls, bins, and inviting more singers are relevant. However, the concert itself is not identified specifically beyond “a music concert,” and the reasons for enjoying it are only briefly explained. For example, “the role of music concert and musician was adorable” does not make clear what was appealing about the performance. Develop this point with a concrete detail, such as the music style or a memorable performance, and explain how each main suggestion would improve the event.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall shape: an opening purpose, a paragraph about your experience, a sequence of suggestions, and a polite closing. “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Thirdly,” and “Finally” make the recommendations easy to follow, and the reader can understand the main message. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent overall arrangement and shows some of the stronger progression expected at the next level. However, the list of suggestions feels mechanical, and the ideas within the enjoyment paragraph are not clearly connected. Use linking phrases that show relationships, such as explaining how the performers or atmosphere contributed to your enjoyment, and group related suggestions rather than relying only on numbered transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “concert,” “audience,” “food stalls,” and “dustbin.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice or collocation errors make parts of the letter unclear or unnatural. For instance, “share about my feedback,” “enjoyed with my family,” and “the role of music concert and musician was adorable” do not express your meaning naturally. “Mare singers” also appears to be a spelling error that obscures the intended word. Build a more precise set of phrases for describing performances and giving recommendations, and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your message is generally understandable, and you attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, such as “I would like to suggest some improvements for next summer’s concert.” However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and agreement occur often enough to affect clarity. Examples include “which was organised … in last week,” “many singers were come,” and “I hope you will improve the next summer’s concert.” The sentence about enjoying the event also needs a clear subject and verb pattern. Practise accurate past-tense descriptions and recommendation structures, and check articles and plural forms. More consistently controlled sentences would make the letter smoother and more professional.
