Student answer (Band 6.0)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to provide you my valuable feedback about the free event which I have attented last sunday. As there were numerious events that day but I have only joined music concert where Justin bieber was entertaining audiences with his famous songs.
Being a music lover, I was fascinated to experience live singing by such a famous artist. Althought I do not have a very good voice, I still prefered to sing with him when i got chance. Moreover, different cuisines available there was delicious and freshly made.
Especially, event oragniser did amazing work in decorating the area.
Finally, I would like to suggest few things for next summer's concerts. Firstly, sitting arrangements needs to be incresed as this time some people were tired standing for long hours. lastly, there should be more paraking spots for people who uses their private vehicles to travel to event.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I hope you find my feedback helpful.
Yours faithfully,
Raj.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three points: you identify the Justin Bieber concert, explain that you enjoyed hearing a famous artist live and singing along, and suggest more seating and parking. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. The enjoyment section is more developed than the suggestions: for example, you could explain how additional seating would improve comfort or propose a specific way to manage parking. The food and decorations add useful personal detail, but the concert itself could be described more precisely, such as naming a song or explaining what made the performance memorable. The response covers the task well overall, while some ideas remain general rather than fully extended.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall arrangement: an opening explains its purpose, the middle paragraphs describe the experience, and the final section gives recommendations before closing politely. Sequencing words such as “Moreover,” “Firstly,” and “Lastly” help readers follow the points. However, some connections feel mechanical, and the shift to “Finally” introduces suggestions without a particularly smooth transition. The sentence beginning “As there were numerous events that day” is also awkwardly connected to the main point, making the opening less clear than the rest. Grouping the concert experience and recommendations into clearly focused paragraphs, and using more natural links between ideas, would make the progression more fluent and cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “fascinated,” “live singing,” “cuisines,” and “sitting arrangements.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “freshly made” and “private vehicles.” However, noticeable spelling errors—“attented,” “numerious,” “oragniser,” “incresed,” and “paraking”—reduce accuracy. Some word combinations are also unnatural: “provide you my valuable feedback” and “sitting arrangements needs to be increased” do not sound idiomatic. Choose more natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A broader, more precise range for describing the performance and practical improvements would help the vocabulary feel more flexible and controlled.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the contrast in “Although I do not have a very good voice, I still preferred to sing with him” and the reason introduced by “as.” The main message remains understandable, but errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction are noticeable. For example, “I have attended last Sunday” uses an unsuitable tense with a finished time, while “sitting arrangements needs” has a plural subject with a singular verb. “Different cuisines available there was delicious” also has problems with sentence structure and agreement. Practise forming accurate past-tense sentences about completed events and checking subject–verb agreement. More consistent control would make your varied sentence attempts clearer.
