Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir or Madam
I hope this finds you in good health. I am Miss mercy, one of the attendee of the recently concluded free concerts. Of all the concerts, I only attended the just concluded music concert held a week ago at the national park.
I am someone that enjoys music and have always loved it right from my early years of life. I have been to other music concerts before now but this particular one was so fantastic and entertaining. First of all, the decoration and the organisation of the event was topnotch. Again having my top artist like Ayster, Davido and Phyno feature in the event was so thrilling and breath-taking. lastly, the synchronisation in the rhythms were alluring.
I applaud your effort in the presentation of this event and I would suggest that taking this event to a more spacious venue like the national stadium will be highly appreciated. This way, all the attendees can be well accommodated without having to squeeze into a little space or trample on each other.
Thank you for bringing this event to us and I look forward to more glamorous ones in the future.
Yours faithfully
Mercy.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points in the task: you identify the music concert and when it took place, explain your enjoyment through the performers, organisation and music, and suggest a larger venue for next summer. Your positive view is clear throughout, and the suggestion is supported by a practical reason: attendees would have more room and avoid crowding. The feedback is relevant and sufficiently extended, although some details remain general. For example, “the decoration and the organisation” and “the synchronisation in the rhythms” could be explained with a specific feature or moment from the concert. Adding a more concrete improvement beyond venue size would also make the feedback more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear overall progression: an opening identifying the event, a paragraph explaining what you enjoyed, and a final paragraph offering a suggestion and closing politely. Linking phrases such as “First of all,” “Again,” and “This way” help readers follow the sequence, and the reason for choosing a larger venue is clearly connected to the suggestion. Some transitions feel mechanical, however, and “Again” does not clearly signal the relationship between the performers and the previous point. The long second paragraph also combines several separate reasons for enjoyment. Use more natural links and consider separating the event’s organisation from the performers and music to make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.5
You use an adequate range for a feedback letter, including expressive choices such as “thrilling,” “breath-taking,” “alluring,” and “glamorous.” These help convey enthusiasm, and the meaning remains clear. There are also attempts at less common or emphatic language, but some choices are not fully natural or precise in context: “topnotch” is informal, “synchronisation in the rhythms” is awkward, and “attendees” is repeated in the venue suggestion. The phrase “top artist” is also less idiomatic than a more specific description of the performers. To move beyond this level, aim for more consistent collocation and register, choosing precise descriptions of the concert rather than several broad praise words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex forms, including “I have been to other music concerts before now but this particular one was so fantastic” and the purpose clause “without having to squeeze into a little space.” Most ideas are understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. In “I am Miss mercy, one of the attendee,” the singular noun should be plural after “one of the”; “the organisation of the event was” is followed by “the synchronisation in the rhythms were,” where the subject–verb agreement is inconsistent. The opening also needs punctuation after the salutation, and “lastly” should be capitalised after a full stop. Check agreement, articles and sentence punctuation carefully while retaining your varied sentence forms.
