Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir,
I am writing this letter to give you feedback about the event which you organized last week in the park. My name is Anish and live near the park where we had that concert. In addition, I am 20 year old and like to do different activities. Therefore ,I took a part in musical concert which is one of that as I am fond of music.
While attending concert I enjoyed a lot as I got platform to express my skill which is one of the reason and one more is , there were no charge to participate as well as no age restriction, So anyone can enjoy it.
But, There are some suggestions I would like to give you such as , keep some sorts of restrictions to bring outside food because I saw on that day people leave their garbage in the park which affect the beauty of local park. Furtheremore, If you can then increase the seatting space for the next time as number of individual had to stand their.
Thank you for your valuable time and cosideration.
Yours sincerely,
Anish

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You cover the three requested points: you identify a music concert, explain that you enjoyed performing and the free, unrestricted participation, and suggest controlling outside food and providing more seating. These are relevant details, but the response only partially fulfils the task because some points are unclear or insufficiently developed. For example, “which is one of that” does not clearly identify the concert, and “got platform to express my skill” leaves the reader unsure what you performed. The suggestions are more specific, especially the observation about litter and people standing, but you could explain how the council might address these issues. State the concert type clearly and develop each reason and recommendation with a little more detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure, with an opening, a paragraph about your experience, a paragraph of suggestions, and a polite closing. This gives the reader an overall coherent arrangement. You also use linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Therefore,” and “Furtheremore” to connect ideas. However, some links feel mechanical or do not show the relationship accurately: “Therefore” does not clearly connect your personal details to attending the concert, while “But” begins the suggestions abruptly. References such as “that concert” and “one of that” are also unclear. Use simpler, more precise transitions and make sure each paragraph develops one clear purpose; this would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the main experience and recommendations, with relevant terms such as “concert,” “participate,” “garbage,” and “seatting space.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the message difficult to understand. “Got platform to express my skill” is not a natural way to describe performing, and “no age restriction” could be expressed more precisely as “open to all ages.” There are also spelling errors, including “Furtheremore,” “seatting,” and “cosideration.” Aim to use familiar words accurately before attempting more elaborate phrasing, and proofread spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause with “as” and a conditional suggestion beginning “If you can.” The main message is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “My name is Anish and live near the park” is missing the subject “I” in the second clause; “I am 20 year old” needs a plural noun; and “there were no charge” has incorrect agreement. Articles are also missing in “While attending concert” and “got platform.” Capitalisation and comma placement are inconsistent, as in “So” after a comma and “But, There.” Practise accurate sentence patterns and check articles, agreement, and punctuation when editing.
