Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir or madam,
I hope you are in good health and spirit. I am writing this letter to gives you feedback about the recent concerts in our local park. First of all, Thank you for organised such a great event for our society Becasue this bring back the joyment moments. I took the part in music competition.
The main reason for my enjoyed is that I won the third prize. It's my first time that I took part in competition. Before that i was a bathroom singer. After winning the prize I was over the moon this events allow me to show my skills im front of people abnd they gave a lot of complements.
The one suggest I want to give you is that next time arrange the events in more bigger place beacsue lot of people did not got place to sit or stand and few people find it difficult to park their cars in parking area due to less spots.
I hope you understand that issue and implement that solution for next event.
Yours faithfully,
Palvee

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the event as a music competition and explain your enjoyment through winning third prize, taking part for the first time, and performing in front of people. You also offer relevant suggestions about a larger venue and more parking. However, the task asks which concert you attended, and “music competition” does not clearly identify a concert; clarify the music or performers involved. The reasons for enjoying it are personal but could be developed further, and the improvement suggestions would be stronger with specific solutions, such as reserving additional parking or providing more seating. Overall, the main points are present, but some are limited or not fully clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening, a paragraph about your experience, suggestions, and a closing. Phrases such as “First of all,” “The main reason,” and “After winning the prize” help signal the sequence of ideas. The progression is generally easy to follow, although some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Before that I was a bathroom singer” is not clearly connected to the concert experience, and the long sentence about the venue and parking combines two suggestions without enough separation. Use clearer paragraphing and linking to distinguish your enjoyment from each practical recommendation, and make references such as “this events” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some expressive language that suits a personal letter, including “over the moon,” “show my skills,” and “complements.” The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your main experience and suggestions, but several word choices, collocations, and spelling errors make parts less natural or harder to understand. For instance, “I took the part in music competition” and “my enjoyed” are not appropriate forms, while “joyment moments” and “bathroom singer” do not express your meaning clearly. Spelling errors such as “Becasue,” “abnd,” and “beacsue” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise, natural phrases for the event and your reaction, and proofread carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more developed sentences, including “The main reason for my enjoyed is that I won the third prize” and a sentence explaining the lack of space and parking. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, articles, agreement, and sentence construction sometimes make the message difficult to read. Examples include “I am writing this letter to gives you feedback,” “Thank you for organised,” and “lot of people did not got place.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also uneven, as in “First of all, Thank you” and the run-on sentence about the venue. Practise accurate past-tense forms and article use, then divide longer ideas into clear sentences.
