Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear Organiser,
I am writing this letter to provide my feedback on summer concert.
I hope you are doing well. My name is Vinay Saini, and i am one of the visitors who attended the concert that was organised in Randel Park. Number of concerts were there but i went to the music orchestra.
Lots of people were there. I really enjoyed that night because the voice of singer was too good, and if i talk about the decoration and the lightning was amazing. Individuals were also singing with the singer, that movement was beautiful and i liked the most.
The suggestion i want to give is that a water facility should be there. However, everything was good but it was too hot out there. Water fans could have been installed over there. Also some people were fighting in the croud . if local organisation had spent money on security, night would be awesome.
Your sincerely,
Vinay Saini

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three requested points: you identify the orchestra concert at Randel Park, explain that you enjoyed the singer’s voice, lighting and audience participation, and suggest water facilities and better security. These details make the letter relevant and give the council usable feedback. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, you say it was very hot but do not specify what kind of water provision would help, while the security suggestion is linked to people fighting without explaining what measures you recommend. The concert is also described generally rather than with a specific title or style. Develop each suggestion with a brief reason or practical detail, and maintain a consistently appropriate formal tone.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The letter has a recognisable structure: an opening purpose, a paragraph about the concert and your enjoyment, and a final paragraph of suggestions. The sequence is generally easy to follow, and linking expressions such as “because,” “However” and “Also” help connect ideas. At times, though, the progression is uneven: the introduction includes personal details that do not contribute much, and the final paragraph moves quickly from heat and water to crowd conflict and security. Some connections are also awkward, such as “However, everything was good but it was too hot,” where the contrast is expressed twice. Group related points more clearly and use transitions that show the relationship between each problem and its proposed solution.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main experiences and recommendations, including “decoration,” “individuals,” “water facility” and “security.” There are also attempts to describe atmosphere, such as “that movement was beautiful.” However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for this context: “music orchestra” is unclear, “voice of singer” is not idiomatic, and “water fans” does not clearly describe the facility you mean. Spelling and word-form slips, including “lightning” for stage lighting and “croud,” also reduce accuracy. Choose more precise event vocabulary and check spelling; this would make your feedback clearer and more natural without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, for example, “I really enjoyed that night because…” and the conditional “if local organisation had spent money on security…”. The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include missing articles in “on summer concert” and “voice of singer,” the incorrect construction “if i talk about the decoration and the lightning was amazing,” and inconsistent capitalisation of “i.” The conditional sentence also needs a clearer, grammatically complete result clause. Use a wider range of sentence patterns while checking articles, subject–verb structure, capital letters and punctuation. More accurate control of these forms would make the letter smoother and more professional.
