Student answer (Band 5.5)

I hope this emails finds you well.

I would like to talk about you classical music concert that i attended in this summer that organised by local council. In this, singer who came he is one of my favourite singer. His name is Vijay Patel.

I would like to inform you that me and my friends and family enjoyed a lot in this concert. There were plenty of things but in this one we enjoyed a lot because sound system was fabulous, seating arrangement as well perfect. One of the amzing thing was that they got us snacks and drinks.

I would like to draw your attention regarding some viable things. Such, ground should be big. because of that was a free so, plenty of people came but due to less seating arrangements they have to go, and because of summer just arrange dome or hall that will be covered. Thus, we could enjoy more. Latly one more request that could you just extend days of concerts, so everyone can enjoy.

I am looking forward from you.

Yours faithfully

Khushbu Patel

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three points: you identify the classical music concert and performer, explain that you enjoyed the sound system, seating and refreshments, and suggest a larger venue, covered seating and a longer concert season. These details make the letter relevant and its purpose clear. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, “Such, ground should be big” does not specify what kind of venue would work best, and the suggestion to extend the “days” of concerts could be clearer about whether you mean more dates or longer performances. Develop each recommendation with a brief reason or practical detail to make your feedback more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: you introduce the concert, describe what you enjoyed, and then move to suggestions before closing. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these main stages. Some linking is mechanical or unclear, however. Phrases such as “In this,” “There were plenty of things but in this one,” and “Thus” do not clearly show how the ideas relate, while “because of that was a free so” makes the reason difficult to follow. Use simpler, more precise links—for example, explain directly that the event was free, so many people attended, and the seating was insufficient. Clearer references between sentences would make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “classical music concert,” “sound system,” “seating arrangement,” and “covered.” There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “draw your attention” and “viable things.” However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural, and spelling errors such as “amzing” and “Latly” are noticeable. Expressions like “enjoyed a lot” and “extend days of concerts” are understandable but imprecise, which limits the naturalness of the letter. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling; a more precise phrase such as “hold concerts over a longer period” would express your final suggestion clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause in “because sound system was fabulous” and a result link with “Thus.” The main message remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity. For example, “I would like to talk about you classical music concert that i attended in this summer that organised” has problems with possessives, articles, tense and clause structure. There are also errors in “me and my friends and family enjoyed” and “I am looking forward from you.” Capitalisation and sentence punctuation are inconsistent. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, then add a correctly formed reason or relative clause.
