make suggestions for improving next summer's concerts
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear sir or madam,
Hope you are doing well. Recently, i attented music concert by famous singer Robert Hills at local park.
I really enjoyed this music concert beacause one of my favourite's singer came there and the enviornment was really exciting. The music band was amazing.
However, i disliked the arrangement of food as some people were pure vegetarian and there was not a single vegetarian item. All the food items had meat which was really disappointing. On next summer's concert please add this option as well so that everyone can enjoy their meals.
Thankyou for organising these wonderful concerts. I hope you will consider my suggestions for future concerts.
Yours sencerily,
Navleen Kaur.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the concert as Robert Hills’s performance and explain that you enjoyed the singer and the lively atmosphere, so the main purpose is clear. You also give a relevant suggestion: provide vegetarian food next summer. However, the reasons for enjoying the event and the proposed improvement are only briefly explained, and the response does not fully develop its feedback. The required minimum length is not met, which contributes to the limited development of the letter. To strengthen your response, add specific details—for example, describe what made the performance memorable and suggest a wider range of food choices or clearer food labelling. This would address the task more fully and make your feedback more useful to the council.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a clear overall sequence: you introduce the concert, describe what you liked, raise a problem, and close politely. Paragraphing helps distinguish the positive feedback from your suggestion, while linking words such as “However” and “as” make the contrast and reason understandable. This gives the response a coherent arrangement. To make the progression more complete and polished, develop each point in a separate, purposeful paragraph and use clearer transitions between the concert experience and the practical recommendation. The short, compressed presentation also limits how smoothly the ideas can be connected. For instance, explain the food issue first, then state how offering vegetarian choices would improve the experience for more attendees.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “exciting,” “amazing,” “disappointing,” and “vegetarian item.” These choices convey your reaction and the specific problem clearly. However, the range is limited, and some spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, such as “attented,” “beacause,” “enviornment,” and “favourite's singer.” Some expressions are also imprecise or unnatural, including “add this option” and “music concert.” Aim for more precise language suited to formal feedback, and check spelling and collocations carefully. For example, you could describe the atmosphere as “lively” and ask the council to “offer vegetarian options,” which expresses the suggestion more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
Your meaning is generally understandable, and you attempt both simple sentences and a reason clause, as in “I really enjoyed this music concert because…” and “as some people were pure vegetarian.” The letter also includes a polite closing. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur in sentence construction and grammatical forms. “Hope you are doing well” omits the subject, while “one of my favourite's singer” has an incorrect possessive form and singular/plural pattern. Capitalisation is inconsistent in “i,” and the opening sentence lacks an article before “music concert.” Use complete sentences and check articles, pronouns, and noun forms; for example, write “I attended a concert by the singer Robert Hills at the local park.”
