Dear Sir or Madam,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sir,
I an writing to tell you about the feeback of concerts held in local park by your council. I recently attended punjabi bangra group concert, they were incredibily the best performers who made the evening cherishing.
One of the best things i enjoyed most about concert is that there was no hustle and bustle of people. Everybody sitting gently on their seats while enjoy listening to their melodious voices. Additionally, they were performing bhangra and encourage audience to participate with them thats why it made that event more enjoyable.
Although event was organized and managed properly, there is a room to improve and make it more sucessfull by adding well-known food brand stalls to attract more people there. Secondly, install some mist fans in sitting areas to prevent people from heating in summers because its an outdoor event, air conditioning would definitly not a choice.
I hope these suggestions would help you to improve your concert event next year and feel free to contact me if you want further guidance related to upcoming projects
Best regards,
Manayer

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
You address all three points in the task: you identify the Punjabi bhangra concert, explain that you enjoyed the performers and audience participation, and suggest food stalls and mist fans for next summer. The purpose is clear, and the suggestions are relevant to an outdoor concert. Your reasons for enjoying the event are understandable, although the point about the crowd being calm and seated could be explained more clearly, and the feedback on the performance is brief. To strengthen the response further, develop these reasons with a specific detail—for example, what made the performers especially engaging—and make the connection between each suggestion and the audience’s experience explicit. The letter is appropriately framed as feedback to the council.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The letter has a clear overall progression: opening purpose, reasons for enjoying the concert, suggestions, and a polite closing. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these stages, and linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “Although,” and “Secondly” guide the sequence of ideas. The suggestions also follow a sensible order. Some connections within sentences are less smooth, however; for example, the opening joins the fact that you attended the concert directly to a description of the performers, and “thats why” makes the relationship between participation and enjoyment sound abrupt. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more precise referencing so each idea follows naturally. The closing is courteous, though the final sentence could be separated from the sign-off for a cleaner finish.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including “melodious voices,” “participate,” “attract,” and “outdoor event.” These choices communicate the main points, and the suggestions are expressed in relevant vocabulary. There are also several inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision, such as “the feedback of concerts,” “evening cherishing,” and “prevent people from heating.” Spelling errors, including “feeback,” “incredibily,” and “sucessfull,” also reduce control. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling carefully; for instance, describe the concert as “memorable” and say that fans would help people “stay cool.” This would make your vocabulary more precise while retaining the clear, practical tone of the letter.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast with “Although” and a reason introduced by “because.” The overall meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors occur in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation. For example, “I an writing” needs the correct auxiliary, while “Everybody sitting gently … while enjoy listening” lacks a complete, consistent verb structure. The opening also joins two independent ideas with a comma. Review subject–verb patterns and make sure each clause has a clear subject and finite verb; use full stops or conjunctions to connect complete sentences. More accurate control of these structures would make the letter easier to read.
